Why cant we build a dedicated military technology institute to utilize our local "brains"? what do we do if flagstaff house and power generating facilities in Ghana are targeted by Boko Haram and other hostile nations? We do not have any long term planning about defence...Even when funds are given, some leaders will chop chop...with their side chicks

Unfortunately, there are no other alternatives for our young people apart from the security services. Instead of building factories to create jobs they are busy building markets for buy and sell activities. The northern part of our country is full of cattles. One could think of establishing modern slaughter houses (as done in Botswana) and meat package industries to create jobs. To the best of my knowledge there are no such thoughts nor discussions ongoing to establish such industries in the north. Here instead, the youth are being absorbed into the security forces with its impacts on the national budget and Government expenditure.
