A country like Ghana instead of demanding accountability from people holding positions, a mere common people who struggle to get by and most of you on Ghana Web insulting are doing hand to mouth stuff goes around defending people because we support ndc or support npp.

In UK because of education even If they are MPs of a particular party and their leader who is a prime minister takes bad decision or things going worse, their own party people force the Prime minister to resign. UK has had about 6 prime ministers within 10yrs and all of them forced out by their own party members.

Come to Ghana and no matter what party people support they just trying so hard to defend the undefended issues. How stupid most Ghanaians are. Hopefully more people going to school under free SHS schemes will start realising is not about the colours of the party but accountability and doing what is right for people of Ghana. A white person wi bring a policy that is going to benefit the future generations without even him introducing it will benefit from that but does it for the future generations.

Start educating yourselves and use the brains God gave you people and stop all the nonsense you guys hiding behind your laptops, and phones and writing. The news about the BoG Gold purchase program losses is a waste of time, noise pollution, financial loss to Ghana as so many people and systems are brought in to waste human resources to talk about it, investigate and submit report not to mention the time and resources wasted at parliament.

The minority party in parliament, the NPP led by Hon Afenyo-Markin failed like Hon Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah and Hon Abena Osei-Asare when without due diligence and lacking understanding of the Queen's English did not consult the IMF representative in Ghana for clarification before making baseless claims against the GoldBod.

The IMF claim of losses were gleaned from BoG balance sheets because of 3 important aspects of the gold-for-oil purchase program. The cost incurred as services and fees paid to others to buy gold, the sale of purchased gold by BoG and the Cedi-to-dollar exchange rate adjustments at BoG. The gold-for-oil purchase program from 2001 and 2005 incurred losses for BoG none of which is attributable to the GoldBod.

It is pure politics of trickery, lies, jandam and the perfected art of misinformation by an NPP party that cannot see straight unless it involves stealing and misuse of taxpayer monies under the guise of a morally bankrupt idea of "property seeking" democracy. The NPP as a party, simply put cannot have love of any kind for Ghana. For if in barely 2-years in office, the IMF has to provide a report on BoG activities then why were IMF reports not available from 2021 through 2023?

And if the IMF reports for the period from 2021 through 2023 showed losses at BoG with the gold-for-oil- purchase program then exactly what is eating NPP grapes this time around? If people in the NPP could have just a little self-restraint and lots of honesty they could realize the differences between gold quantities purchased, the prices and losses that are relative to gold quantities, sale prices and cedi-to-dollar exchange rates.

I believe that neither the Bank of Ghana nor Sammy Gyamfi was forthcoming with yet to be explained humongous lost that the taxpayers of Ghana would be burdened with, especially considering the fact that the Bank of Ghana didn’t disclose the factual amount of the losses during their end of year’s financial disclosure or in the government annual financial report but was forced to accept the losses when the anomalies were flagged by the IMF.

I mean what were they trying to hide until the IMF gave the hint? This case borders on deception or failure to make a factual financial disclosure to the Ghanaian public.
In this case if either of the parties endorsed the earlier partial or deceptive disclosures with a signed statement a case of perjury should be pursued against them. Period.

The CEO of the GoldBod better be sensible. In sitting down for critical meditation. There is a suspect, a syndicate behind siphoning resources from the GoldBod which could not be mentioned. Now the CEO criticised as a single being. The best for the CEO is resignation to save reputation and further embarrassment.
That of the « extorsion » the matter now in court must better not be emphasised.
