A repented armed robber who is now a reverend minister has recounted his past life, revealing that his mother died in court after he was sentenced to 150 years in prison for armed robbery.

According to him, he was once a notorious armed robber who carried out several crimes, including robbing a church where his mother had taken him for prayers.

Narrating the events that led to the church robbery, in a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on August 29, 2026, he disclosed that he used a pistol to threaten pastors during a prayer session and stole money they had collected over a month.

“My mom took me to church and I had a pistol on me. The pastors were praying for me when I noticed a woman opening her bag to gift the pastor, and she had huge sums of money. I pointed the gun at one of the pastors and took all the money they had collected for the past month,” he narrated in Twi in a video shared on TikTok.

He went on to reveal that when he was finally arrested and sentenced to 150 years in prison, his mother collapsed and died immediately.

He added that his mother suffered greatly because of his disobedience, as she was repeatedly detained by police due to his crimes.

“During my sentencing in court, my mother died. The shock of me going to prison for that many years made her collapse. Because of me, my mother went to police cells 19 times.

"The police arrested her whenever I robbed someone and they couldn’t find me. Sometimes I committed crimes in Ghana and fled to Nigeria for a while. She could be jailed for three days before being released,” he added.
