Confusion erupts as man who claims to be a policeman arrests Pragya rider at food joint

A confrontation erupted at a food joint when a man who claimed to be a police officer arrested a tricycle (locally known as Pragya) rider after asking him to produce the vehicle’s licence.

In a video shared by Dunkwa TV on Facebook, a heated scene unfolded at a food joint after a man believed to be a police officer stopped a Pragya rider who had parked his vehicle to buy food.

The alleged officer reportedly asked the rider to produce his licence. The rider explained that he did not have the physical licence with him but offered to provide his licence ID number for verification.

The situation reportedly got out of hand when the officer decided to handcuff the rider, triggering a heated exchange as the rider questioned the legality of the arrest.

An eyewitness who was at the scene, while narrating the cause of the incident in the local dialect, Twi, said: “What this man is doing, is it really right? If he dies, would it be a problem? If you are given a post, is this what you do with it? The person isn’t a thief. He came to park his Pragya to buy food, then you ask for his licence.

“He was giving you the licence number to check, then you asked for his phone. Immediately he gave you the phone, you handcuffed him for arrest. Is this legal? And even if it is, should that be done at a food joint? Viewers, we need your support so the law deals with this officer.”
