Very funny country indeed. Always making 5steps forward and 20steps backwards. Ghana was once a leading exporter of cotton as a cash crop for the northern sector like cocoa, Ghana was competing with countries like Egypt, Pakistan, Thailand, Mali etc when it comes to cotton production.

We had big cotton Genery factories in Tamale,Tumu and Pussinamo in Bolgatanga, it was a huge sector like cocoa that employs the youth in the northern sector.
Same NDC government at that time put everything under the so called "Divestiture Implementation Programme " and sold them. Cotton Board used to have : Tractors, Long vehicles,housings etc. Everything is gone forever.

I remember at the time if you're interested in farming Cotton, the company will provide you with Tractor,seed,chemicals and technical knowledge in Cotton farming. After harvesting they come to weigh your Cotton and take their inputs cost and pay you your profit.

That not withstanding, if as a country we realised our mistakes in the past, nothing stops us from going back to correct our mistakes. It's good news if we venture into Cotton product again. I wish them well.
