  This is the laziest and most mediocre financial reporting. You quoted a profit of GHC 19.8 billion. This roughly translates to about $18m. Now the question is: what is the value of the asset on the back of which this $18m profit was made? This is what you should have told the public. No shareholder is interested in the raw profit figure alone. Any reasonable shareholder will ask for the return or yield, which is the relationship between the profit figure and the asset value. The value of the SOE is over $1 billion, so if you make a profit of $18 million, your yield is around 0.018%, less than 0.1%. Who works to make a profit of 0.1%? This is how efficient our SOEs are. So please don't come and joke with us for making a profit of less than 0.1%.

  The chunck of so called profit is from exchange rate differences because of the manipulations that has caused the exchange rates to fall significantly and not from operational efficiencies Most SOE' s have significant US dollar denominated debt stock in thwir books.. I strongly suspect the artificial exchange gains on these liabilities is contributing to the perceived huge profits and not necessarily noperational efficiencies
