This process is unecessarily stretched for many years by the staff at the Works department due to their corrupt processes. The current head at the Works department - a guy who calls himself "Engineer Obour" is the worst culprit. This arrogant and over pampered "Obour" guy behaves as if he owns his position forever and will never die in this life. Posterity will judge all of this corrupt people at the Works department of the TMA

Hmmm, I am facing a similar situation at a different assembly. I went in did all the official requests, they surveyed and building plan and I paid about 30K with receipts right at the assembly. They said it will be ready in 3 months. Well it is now 3 years!!! Mixed with no communication, different stories when you contact, forgetfulness. Infact I have now travelled and my family member is tossed up and down. My advise is to relax, exercise patience for your own self and all the best.

In other advanced jurisdictions, if applications does not receive any response within three months, the application is deemed approved. The applicant can go ahead with their building. We need to put that clause into all application processes in Ghana.
If TMA has a backlog of three to four years, then that cannot become the problem of the applicant.
