I understand the concerns being raised, but I believe there is nothing wrong with the government stepping in to help our citizens when they are in need—even if they traveled on their own.

I understand the concerns being raised, but I believe there is nothing wrong with the government stepping in to help our citizens when they are in need—even if they traveled on their own.
Yes, people travel to South Africa on their own, but many of them have been sending foreign currency back home to support their families here. They have contributed to the economy in their own way, even from a distance.
When they find themselves in trouble, it is not about whether there will be gains or losses for the government. Governance is about the welfare of the people. These are our own kinsmen and women, and if the government can assist them, that is what leadership should do.
We may debate the cost or the approach, but we should not question whether it is right to care for our own. That is what family, community, and government are meant to do.

We were in GHANA people spent over $11 million on Pwalugu Dam which is never existed, they same people spent over $2 million on skytrain which never happened in Ghana, they spent over $97 million on cathedral which turned to be the world class whole, so imagine this south Africa evacuation happened in the regime of Yaanom hahaaa, when the same thing happened in their time they couldn't account for just 80 people they evacuated

It woukd be more appropriate for disagreements to be kindly expressed without insults. NPP did a terrible job in some respects and we voted them out. NDC is so far doing well, and that is a fact. Yet, it is important that we comment appropriately and interrogate matters without bias so that the NDC and John Mahama can succeed. After all, we need a political party that will, once again, build confidence in Ghana's leadership.

That said, we need to see a more detailed breakdown of air fare travel cost, separate from feeding, accommodation, health care etc. Until then, we may ne comparing and analyzing wrongly.

Pending further particulars, it does appear that the Hon. Minister has acted in a way he would have criticized his opponents if they did.
