It was totally unecessary to change the pre-selection model to post exam selection. There are many students in rural areas that are unaware of the need to visit their schools to choose placement slots. In the north many of these have traveled down south and only heaven knows when they can return to fill such forms. Given the short time frame, it does not make sense to wait for results to be released and you now have parents and students rushing to look for schools. This post exam placement model does not inspire confidence in the system. There are reports that all the category A schools have been reserved for NDC members and politicians. Please let the children select the schools as they did before. This change has caused uncessary anxiety and lack of confidence in the system

This is not a new phenomenon. It's always been through case that not all those who choose Category A schools get it. Sometimes we waste so much time on issues as though they're new.

That was totally absurd when you know right from the word go that you have 600,000 plus candidates and less than 80,000 slots in the category A school. Common reasoning should just allow the selection to be done by parents based on the performance of the kids relative to the category of the school of choice.

As a teacher in the senior high school who have been actively involved in student admission since 2018, the biggest problem comes from lack of education on this selection process. Even some JHS teachers lack basic understanding of the process but as always we teachers feel we know everything so will not consult other teachers to learn more about the process. They choose any school for these students and they end up not getting them

Such school will struggle to produce University students, will have mainly cito kids, village and poor school kids. What a democracy. Why put citizens into a failing school. They struggle at poorly equipped Cito schools competing with morning ster kids. WHY SHOULD SCHOOLS BE CATEGORISED IN A DEMOCRACY?
