With all due respect, Ghana will be well served if new men and women are voted into parliament to replace each NPP member who laughed off when the NDC forewarned the NPP and its flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo to postpone the start of the free SHS scheme for at least a year? Did HE john Mahama and the NDC not forewarn of pending crisis in the free SHS scheme if facilities and accommodations do not keep pace with enrollment numbers?

How many existing SHS schools in Ghana did the NPP majority government of Akufo-Addo/ Dr Bawumia build just one building structure between 2017 and 2024? Can Hon Afenyo-Markin tell readers how many building structures were built for Winneba Secondary/ Winneba High Schol or at Post-Sec now Winneba U of Education?

The categorization of secondary schools into A, B, C is one of the problems.
If it is 8 schools that the BECE candidates are allowed to choose, they can choose all the 8 schools without any categorization. A candidate who gets aggregate 23, is asked to choose 3 A schools, 3 B schools , etc. Obviously aggregate 23 will not take one to A school, but one needs to complete the forms so he chooses A school knowing that he will not get the A school.
If there is no categorization, getting 23, straight away one chooses Mampong Presby Senior High or Aburi Presby Senior High, etc.

I don’t remember 54,000 plus being denied admission into SHS, the data says that they don’t qualify for automatic placement but should do self placement. However, a whole minority leader is out there misrepresenting the facts thinking every Ghanaian out there is myopic. A clear confirmation of what Sylvester Tetteh said; in opposition you don’t deal with facts but propaganda. Just lie your way out, make it seem to be the truth and people will buy it. Sadly enough, this won’t wash.
The minority leader is doing more harm to his party than good. His continuous peddling of misinformation and shouting isn’t making the party attractive to a lot of discerning Ghanaians.
The NPP has lost its grip on almost everything and is resorting to shouting and peddling of falsehoods. Their greatest weapon now is a smear campaign, insults, and propaganda.
Sad to say, this isn’t the NPP of yesterday. It’s become a party of jokes and everyone able to speak is sent out there as a party communicator.

Last year, I know of someone who paid 20,000 for placement at PRESEC Legon.
