We shouldn't compare ourselves to the USA & UK who are already advanced in devt, even then they always try to poach Mathematics teachers from Russia & elsewhere. The likes of China Japan,India & Russia are still paying so much attention to Basic Mathematics teachings in pre-university education. What Ghana needs currently is the improvement of how Mathematics are taught in our schools.

In Canada, you need a 51percent in all subjects to apply to community College or university. If you can't get Into university due to low grades you can go to a community College for 2 yrs study whatever you want and then apply to a university of your choice..your life continues. Not everyone is good at maths..we.need more vocational Learning

There is nothing wrong with that.

There are many things in life, if your maths or English is not good, you may not make progress unless you use a third party. You will struggle with Admin, Sciences, Economics etc if your Maths is bad.
