As a young boy growing up in Tema C1, together with friends of my age, we were always eager to trek to Akodzo Park, Prisco Park, Valco Park, Tema New Town, C2, and C5 just to watch colts football.
It was a delight to watch Tema Hearts babies, Young Kotoko, Prisco Minis, AC Milan, Abease, Soccer Ambassadors, Soccer Angels, Phortizo, etc.
Today, you find yourself walking into funerals and other celebrations on the very football fields that produced great footballers from Tema and its environs.
If the GFA says colts football isn’t dead but playing under a new name, then, let it be known to all that that new name isn’t visible and isn’t helping promoting what was once a delight for many.
