I pray upon the IGP to send a special team to do the investigation because airport police, I don't trust them. They will do everything Posible to kill this case. A young man who was to become a lawyer just lost his life because some useless police officers thought they could show their powers. They could have used the CCTV camera footage to catch him if truly the rider did something wrong rather than chasing and killing such a vibrant young man.

My nephew was driving me and we came across a checkpoint at Legon around midnight. I cannot remember what the police said or did and my nephew started arguing with the police seriously.

I came out of the car and shouted at my nephew to stop arguing with the police and apologise there and now. He has never seen me this angry before.

He apologised and i apologised to the officer for his behaviour. The officer said its ok and waved us safely home.

I warned my nephew that this is the last time he will ever drive me and argue with a policeman at a checkpoint. I told him that the police standing in that rain at 12.00am midnight maybe has not being able to pay his children school fees or mother is sick and has no money to send.

He is already frustrated. If he shoots you dead nobody will ask him any question. They will say its a mistake . The only thing you will get is "fama Nyame". Dont make yourself a victim. In Ghana when i come across them, i roll down my window, say hello, ask about their families and wish them well. 100% of the time they appreciate that someone has shown them respect and always wave me through on my way.

Just show them due respect. If they say stop. Stop. If you havent got your papers. Apologise. In most cases if you show them respect they will let you go. What you shouldnt do is to argue with an armed policeman or fail to stop when they ask you to. You only have one life. Protect it!
