Has America never experienced civil war before? History shows America experienced civil war. London experienced cholera outbreak. So having problems doesn’t mean Africa cannot manage its own affairs. You can't just discard the 100yrs experience of the British with the flimsy excuse that the black man can manage its own affairs.We needed guidance & coaching after independence and we shouldn't have taken that wrong decision. By the time he was overthrown, Ghanaians couldn't even afford fish, export of cocoa had dropped significantly and forex reserves couldn't even import raw materials for the factories he was putting up

The fact that this is what he felt about Nkrumah’s government does not mean that was what the MAJORITY of Ghanaians who lived around that same time felt. Yes, Nkrumah made some mistakes but so has every other government after him.

I am sad that at his advanced age he seems not to know the West in general has never been enthused to see Africa progress and have been using subtle ways and means to thwart our progress as Africans. But no matter what the West does our progress is inevitable as more and more African countries start to take charge of their God given natural resources and use that to benefit their people.

PWD worked perfectly. Roads were repaired with no issues. All we do is complain why we cannot do anything. Iran iraq war makes ghana not do anything? Apart from being greedy and personal gains, what do Ghanaian leaders do for ghana? Is it the corruption, and lack of vision we are happy about? After watching almost four hours of the interview on YouTube, here are my thoughts.
1. If someone said the old man has a sense of entitlement, I would not dispute it.
2. He had a story to tell, and he did so in three parts, with Kafui Dey doing his part to guide the conversation.
Part 1 – Kwame Nkrumah
Part 2 – Life at PWD
Part 3 – Life after PWD
Part 1 generated the most controversy.
• Did he criticize KN? Yes.
• Did he admire the way the British administered Ghana? Yes.
• Did he say he wanted the British to rule Ghana forever? No.
• Did he say Ghana's independence was a bad idea? No.
• Did he say independence came too soon? Yes.
• Did he say KN should have delayed the repatriation of the British to allow Ghanaians to understudy them and learn how to manage the country before the British left? Yes.
The comments show that people are very divided on this issue. Those who agree with him appear to be approaching the issue from a rational perspective, while those who disagree seem to be responding more emotionally. As some folks know, insults always explode when emotions collide with rationality.
Parts 2 and 3 - I would have loved to hear more about his work and life at PWD, as well as his life after PWD. However, the man is old, and he either did not understand some of the questions well or struggled to provide clear answers.
Kafui did well. I enjoyed some of the interesting moments they shared, such as Mr. Tenkorang questioning Kafui's citizenship and challenging the media to play their role well.
