After all their parents used to send such kids to expensive private schools.

Then student from rural areas who qualified should be awarded scholarship. Such students must have a track record of having attended their whole JHS in a particular rural area.

As for me, this wholesale FSHS is a politically strenuous policy. Students eat at home before going to SHS. So, even if SHS education is free, they should pay for their food. There's no equity self. Day students pay for their accommodation, utility and food (except lunch).Then boarders pay nothing. That is a low IQ policy.

How can a borrowing and importing economy run such policy? After all these free schools and "no fee stress," and colleges allowance, they still want posting.

The money for industralization is being spend on feeding and giving allowances to students. Those students will come out and have no jobs. Ghana has a long way to go.

GES must stop the categories.
A school having 1200 vacancies must take:
Aggregate 6 - 12 . .....300
Aggregate 13 - 18 ..... 300
Aggregate 19 - 24 ...300
Aggregate 25.....30.......200
Aggregate 31.......36. 100

For equity students with aggregate 30+ should rather be place in schools with quality facilities for them to improve if the authorities want all Ghanaian students to do well

Government must pay special attention to the so-called category B & C schools by improving on the teaching and learning facilities in those schools, to help ease out the pressure on the supposed category A schools and yearly confusion that comes with schools placements. I think a chunk, if not the whole, of the World Bank loan should go to upgrade facilities at category B & C schools, to help bring all of them to the same standard as the category A schools.

Listen and take it from me when the students are in form 2 start working on their placement by using their registration numbers and let the choose their schools before writing the exams then straight after their results they are posted to their various choices according to their performance and preferences. Stop the last min.com jobs u do in Ghana. All these create problems and bribery in the various schools. If a child is on transfer their school have to notify GES for changes simple. GES learn technology is making life easier not difficult so embrace it.

Even amongst the A schools there is the traditional top schools as stated. However we also have the 2nd tier and the and the new Bs that have been upgraded to A. Eg Archbishop porter girls, st Louis , Mary’s, Bishop Herman college st, Thomas and st James will prob be 2nd tier category A. Also we have Akuapeman, Tema secondary, Krobo girls etc that have been upgraded. So some parents will still protest if thier kids achieve 6 and are offered krobo instead of Wesley girls .
