The training of Medical and Teaching Professionals in Ghana and the United States are very much different. There is no way Uncle Sam will just employ Health and Teaching Professionals to come and work in the USA. I am a perfect example myself.
I arrived at the USA as a Professional Teacher with the Rank of Principal Superintendent. To be allowed to teach in Uncle Sam's country, I had to take more education including, but not limited to Special Education before I was Certified to teach at the Middle, High School, and College level. Uncle Sam is very interested in Special Education for CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. Yes, I took them at Breneau and Georgia State Universities. I then had to pass a Certification Examination before I was employed to teach at the High School and College level at Uncle Sam's Educational System.
Special Education is a very serious requirement for Teachers to very much understand students and how they behave like they do. Parents have to be understood and helped to understand and take care of their children in a country where it is illegal for students to carry Guns and Ammunition to School and use them when provoked. Yes, the students will easily use weapons smuggled into Schools
Nurses and other Medical Professionals trained in Ghana are just not ushered into the Hospitals to treat Patients. They have to undergo a more robust and vigorous training under well qualified Staff trained in the USA before they can be allowed to function. And such training can last very long and can be Certified based on passing the Standard Certification Examination, and on the Recommendations of a Board that supervises and recommend for such Certifications. For a while, such Health Professionals work with, and directly under the Supervisions of Well Trained and Experienced Professionals trained in the USA.
Teachers and Nurses are very well trained and Supervised by very well trained and experienced Professionals before Certification.
I appreciate the Government trying to have employment for Ghanaians who are qualified but unemployed, or seeking for Greener Pastures. I wish them success.

I doubt this MoU will work bcoz the USA Health authorities insist on writing their Entry Exams b4 they will permit a Ghanaian nurse to work there. They used to be lenient in allowing us but they've changed their laws.

Secondly, the State of Ohio doesn't have the power to make that decision let alone Columbus. Only the federal can make that decision. I know some people who have zero clue about how the system works in USA works will come and insult me instead of learning to broaden the scope of their knowledge

You're right I know of some ladies who went to USA with their nurses' certificates but have been forced to change careers. Nurses exams in USA is quite difficult and also very expensive.

S. to become housemaids and home Health Aides are then subjected to prostitution and taxi drivers to maintain their status in GhANA AS BEEN TO'S. There are a LOT OF OF GHANAIAN doctors and nurses working as gas station attendants in the U, S. who could have helped Ghana if our politicians could have solved our problems instead of allowing a country that has called you SHITHOLE the opportunity to enslave Ghanaians. It is embarrassing being a Ghanaian. I expected something better from the NDC government but it seems to have no sense of direction as the NPP government it just took over from.. We are asking the U. As far as immigration issues are concerned, this agreement has to be approved by US government before nurses recruited can be given visas to travel to USA.SO further clarification needs to be given by the Minister for Health .
