You are very right. At my days at UCC, it was only Dr. Pecku who researched and published something on GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING in Education. Nobody researched and published anything. Not even the BIG MOUTHED TONY AIDOO who was always virulent and spewing GRE vocabularies on students for them to know that he is knowledgeable. That was the time before the Computer and Internet in Ghana.
Ghanaian University Professors never research and publish anything. In Uncle Sam's country and the Western World, Teachers and University Professors are paid and compelled to research and publish educational information every two years in their Fields of study before they are promoted or maintained at the Universities. Even the Teaching materials and notes are those that were inherited from previous Lecturers and are used every year. Just get the Lesson Notes from your Seniors at the Universities and you may not need to even attend any Lectures but can still pass your exams. TWEAA. Old fagotted Lecturers. What did Tony Aidoo publish or researched into during his many years at UCC? Which University at the United Kingdom would have maintained him? When Kwamena Dickson started to get on some of the Lecturers and release them for Non Research and Publications, Tony Aidoo was very smart and quickly hopped to the side of Efo Julor John Rawlings that he had always condemned. I,.K Prah and some others were released and he went to teach at Mfantsiman Girls School where he was not even the Head of Department. Our Educational Lecturers are just dumb and useless when it comes to research and publishing.

From time immemorial students from our thirtiary institutions have been researching many aspects of education. The .miracle is that to access any of these . Is next to impossible. Why is this? There is not even a national registry of research topics for any year! This situation must change. Are we serious? Who gets the art pieces created EVERY YEAR?
