I have no doubt they have their accomplices at the port, but for now these are accomplices of the Dutch drug lord hiding in Sierra Lone. Other accomplices involved will be picked up and the law will deal with them.

If they already shipped it, where from the conspiracy. It they should be charged with committing the crime. If they don't have any evidence. They shouldn't arrest them in the fist place and continue with their investigations. Because making sensational arrests and not being able to prosecute them successfully because you don't have evidence will erode the trust in the system and will only increase drug crimes. Because everyone will believe that when they get arrested, they can pay their way out.

They can be charged with planning or conspiracy to commit a crime. They didn't get to rob the bank but they fully intended to. I don't think all crime has the conspiracy element.

3) According to Dr Norman, only about 15% of the containers are checked because of the volume of work number of containers to be processed per day
.
4) Depending on how the sender has hidden some illegal substance, it may require a lot of experience, time and patience to detect the hidden items.

I have been watching customs control of different countries and I tell you, criminals would device several 'unimaginable' and sophisticated ways to smuggle drugs.

In one case, they manufactured hollow, cylindrical chrome-plated 'hydraulic' machine 'parts', filled the hollow spaces with meth and welded, polished and plated joints with chrome. All items on a palette covered with aluminium foil to beat the scanning device. There wre 5 palettes, each having 20 cylinders !!

It took the skills and patience of an experienced customs officer to detect the drugs after they used a grinding machine to cut through one of the cylinders.

Note that the consignment had travelled all the way from South America to an European port without been detected !!

These gang might be working for "Bolle Jos," the suspected "catfish head-like" Dutch drug lord who is said to be on the run. The guy is hiding in Sierra Leone, under protection of the Leonean regime and delegating shipment of drugs through the ports of West Africa to Europe.

The government of Ghana must be very careful. Its authorities at the sea harbour must be called to order to make sure they don't allow shipment of drugs through the Ports of Tema again. This latest development isn't good for Ghana and wouldn't go well either tolerated if continued.
