With such high caliber intellectuals, it's ironic that we can't forge a decisive path to lift us out of poverty. Are we happy that today we pay graduate National Service Persons Ghc700 per month ($60, thus $2 per day)to cover rent, transport, food, etc. Meanwhile we have academicians with long degrees and most of them occupying high positions but because of their stomachs they steal for their families' welfare only. Poverty is rife and many adults earn less than Ghc1,000 per month thus malnourished and living miserable lives with no hope. That's why promises by dishonest politicians get them elected whereas they are unable to bring about any real improvements.

Meanwhile I propose that there should be multi-partisan approach to fashioning out a universal national development plan spanning 50 years long terms and ten years medium term within which all political parties and govts must prepare their manifestoes on the 'how' to achieve set objectives and not what.

Besides, successive govts should forcibly devote at least 30% of their budgets towards continuation of uncompleted infrastructure projects and social programmes. This should be passed into law and monitored to ensure compliance failing which the necessary sanctions should apply.

It's obligatory for the current generation to leave a better Ghana behind for posterity.

He didn't so why now. Our leaders are not patriotic so they abandon projects and our money without no one questioning them. The western world leaders carry on good projects when there is a change government and abandon those they consider not viable.
