The reality in Ghana is that policymakers sometimes do development that is unmeritious. Konkomba Yam Market redevelopment in any form with a political lens could be very nebulous and unmeritious. Many antagonists of Konkombas are celebrating and laughing that the government is demolishing Konkomba Yam Market, and Konkombas are crying. Some are questioning the authority, and the teremity Konkombas have to oppose the govt. decision on the 24-hour market in the Konkomba Yam Market. Such uncoupled cognitive riffraffs shouldn't exist. Anyway, no serious Konkomba will worry if the government gives an ultimatum and starts demolishing the market the next day. Because at the end of the day, most Konkombas are farmers and can simply feed themselves in any unbearable conditions. But whoever took such decisions must be ready for the consequences. Such individuals must be aware that Konkombas are one of the most united tribal groups, which can take unanimous decisions when it comes to facing challenges; none matter their differences on any grounds. Administratively, Konkombas are largely dominated in the Northern, Northeast, Savannah, Oti, and Bono East regions. They're nevertheless dispersedly present in Ashanti, Bono, Volta, Upper East, and Greater Accra. In their major populated areas (above 5 regions), out of about 49 administrative constituencies, Konkombas are approximately present in 70% of 32+2 constituencies. Northern region (10/16), Northeast (3/6), Oti (6/9), Savannah (3/7), and Bono East (8/11). And at least two constituencies in the Ashanti region. There's not quantified data of how much Konkombas are present in some of the constituencies in Greater Accra, Volta, Eastern, and Upper East, though they are present in large numbers in some of the cluster areas. If you translate this into politics, they can contribute to at least 1.5 million votes. Also, you don't just talk about Konkombas without making some critical checks of their contributions to Ghana's economy. The yams in question that are being referenced contribute about $75 million in export earnings per year without taking into account their quantum trade volume and the vast number of people who trade yams as their business and the economic value of the yam farmers. So if you're lingering on some ignorant individuals to say, "Konkombas this, Konkombas that," you must know the implications of collapsing a $100 million economic commodity of which about 2.5 million people are engaged to sustain their lives. It is such disheartening and disrespectful behavior for someone to ignorantly spew garbage to such valuable group of people. You guys are back with your colonial theatrics, propaganda, and commentaries to defame and infer the Konkombas as usual, but they are always on the right side of history. If NDC and the government are hardening their ears, I will remind them that it was student's allowance that lost them the 2016 election. Because of their entrenched position in some of their unmeritorious policies. The whole frame and mechanism use was poor on the part of the government, and they must be very sensible enough to know the implications and consequences it poses going into the 2028 election. If you listen to the mayor's interview with the defense minister, it is pathetic that a whole government machinery handling this delicate issue is incompetent. The man doesn't even know what his people did by marking the Yam Market office in question but yet wants to defend his position. Konkombas will forever leave no matter what and who?
