People know that NDC sponsors Kevin Taylor - Samson Lardy clashes with Bernard Bediako

Renowned legal practitioner and journalist Samson Lardy clashed with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Bernard Bediako Baidoo, on his NewsFile programme on August 19, 2026.

Bernard Bediako, during a panel discussion on the programme, tried to distinguish between the commentary made by media personality Kevin Taylor and Ghana Jollof, who has been declared wanted by the police for allegedly inciting violence.

He was trying to make the point that Kevin Taylor only insults personalities, but Samson Lardy would not let him land.

“Kevin Taylor does more than insult. You see, you people, let's call a spade a spade. When he calls the IGP and the CID boss, when he calls them criminals and calls them people who are corrupt? Is that an insult?

“When he came into this country, did they not know where to find him? Did they arrest him? That's what the people are asking you. Did they arrest him?... He was policed, walked into the Supreme Court, and walked out free, and he's jubilating around the place,” he fumed.

He added, “People are not daft too. People are saying that was so arranged. Otherwise, it would not even be in the country. All right. People are making connections.”

The Akwatia legislator rebutted, saying that even though he disagrees with the commentary of Kevin Taylor, it is wrong for people to use him as justification not to punish others.

He said that the fact that Kevin Taylor was not arrested for the wrongs people are saying he has done does not mean that nobody should be arrested if they act the same way or worse.

“So if 1000 people are arrested in connection with 20(sic), you keep mentioning Kevin. Kevin. Kevin,” he said.

Samson Lardy came in again and said that Kevin Taylor’s action is even worse.

“He's doing worse, and you people are watching and people know that you sponsor… now the police have found sponsors of Ghana Jollof. When the person is sponsored from the people, nobody cares,” he added.
