This is total nonsense, it's not the duty of an mp to support students from their constituency, an mp work is to sit in parliament and make laws for the gov of the day to adopt, this is the reason mps become poor and sadly with many debts after losing their primary or the seat in general elections, i have lived in south africa for closed to 16, but i have never one day see my area mp or know who was the mp for the area, i lived in Helsinki for closed to two years, but never saw my mp at all, if right measures were put in place. i don't really think that any parents would need these or even encourage it.
