So, If an MP is caught red-handed committing an offence, should the police fold their arms and wait for the Speaker to be notified before acting? What happens to the principle that no one is above the law?
Parliamentary immunity should protect MPs in the legitimate performance of their duties not shield them from when they need to answer questions with law enforcement.
