The house was not broken into, the robbers explain they were admitted into the house and hidden in the bathroom by Salamatu, that connects. Salamatu says she was in the bathroom when the robbery and murder took place, I don't understand why the police could believe that story. No robber will go on an expedition without thorough search of the victims home to ascertain number of individuals present, infact in real life situation, Salamatu would have been dragged out of the bathroom to the living room and perhaps sexually assaulted by the robbers. Again there is the connection that Dozer is Salamatu's brother and it's shocking to know the police didn't do enough background check about Salamatu. The fact that the victim was beaten to death is again suspicious because if it's were premeditated murder the robbers would come with guns or knives to execute that mission, beating him to death suggest this was perhaps robbery gone wrong. The robbers overpowered the victim when he attempted to resist their attack and they inevitably beat him into unconsciousness. The beating must have caused some commotion and for Salamatu not to hear this commotion from the bathroom is a major disconnect in the narrative and that should have heightened suspicion about Salamatu's complicity.

A lawyer listens first to his client, concludes he is guilty but goes ahead to defend to set him free from offense. Sometimes with technicalities, he wins, and loses sometimes. Lawyers who are specialized in crime cases don't allow their clients to utter a word when the case is called because he knows everything and will stand up to try to defend his client.
