For years, Ghanaians have endured hardship while successive leaders have turned a deaf ear to the country’s many problems. Public trust in the mainstream media has also declined because too many outlets focus on political interests instead of development and the everyday struggles of citizens.

Voices such as Kevin Taylor, Glass Nkoa and Ghana Jollof have shown that, sadly, harsh language often seems to be the only thing that gets the attention of our leaders. Remove the insults, and many of the issues they raise remain painfully true.

Our leaders must wake up and do what is necessary. Ghanaians are not asking for miracles—we need decent jobs, quality healthcare, reliable security and a better standard of living.
