Ghanaians should be worried about the president's admission of his inability to deal with the galamsey issue, or his utter refusal to deal with it. This president is only finding excuses to run away from his responsibility to defend Ghanaians. Galamsey is not only happening in the forest zones. It's happening openly in our towns and villages. What has his government done about it? Nothing, other the cosmetic measures of rounding up a few galamseyers as publicity stunt. Mahama should be ashamed of himself for this admission. No one cares whether his skin is tougher than the crocodiles. He needs to be sensitive to how Ghanaians feel about drinking contaminated water and do his job.
