In the case of Ghana, people go and queue for days and nights to be Recruited or Enlisted into the Ghana Armed Forces. It used not to be like so since the time of Nkrumah until Efo Julor John Rawlings seized Power and made the Military an avenue to bully, cheat, and places of opportunity. Efo Julor John Rawlings made the Ghana Military useless and a place where people become Military Personnel just to abuse and take advantage of Civilians.

They start training and right after High School, they enter into the Military. Yes , Officers are picked up at the Universities. After College, they are enlisted into the Official Corps of the Military. There is nothing like Blood Relationships, Protocol, and or Traditional and Religious quota. Some Parents make their Children and Wards avoid any enlistment by making them attend Universities and Colleges right after High School in Western Europe and Canada.
Bill Clinton for instance was made to avoid the Military by attending the Oxford University. I have a young son who joined the USA Army at a very young age and he is a Flt. Lieutenant with the USA Airforce. He has been on Active Duty tours in Saudi Arabia and Israel. He can leave the Military after six years but should be ready anytime he is called on a Special Military Phone and Number to attend to needed Military Service.
In Ghana, joining the Military has become a Position sought for and People have to fight to be Recruited or Enlisted. After Military training and expedition, the young Military Officers and men usually are employed by the State's Police or the FBI and even into the CIA. The Police are more feared in Uncle Sam's country than the Military because the former are seen very often and deal with the Civilian community. Military Personnel cannot leave Barracks or Camps in Military Gear on unsanctioned operations alone or with friends. They move in a Convoy and are accompanied by Senior Military Officers who direct, control, and monitor their activities. If any Military Personnel leave Barracks in Military Uniform and in any operation not sanctioned by the Military Command, they will be arrested and put to trial before a Military Court, demoted and sanctioned. If this action is repeated again, the Personnel is Dishonorably Discharged. This is very humiliating and it follows such a Personnel into the Grave. That Personnel will never be employed in any Responsible Position in the country. Their Military is disciplined and not like that of Ghana where they can just go to town in Military Uniform and bully civilians just for the simple stupid excuse that they are struggling for a Particular woman. Some of the Military Personnel live in Civilian areas and are only out driving to duty when called. I have a daughter and a son who live with and don't just get up and Dress up to town in Military Uniform. The Police will arrest them.
The USA Military has an a Army Corps who live in the Community and not at the Barracks. They have a Special Military Phone on them all the time and rush to Action when the Emergency Police Number is called. They sometimes arrive to give Attention to issues before the Police arrive. When the Police arrive and the situation is stabilized, they hand over to the Police and leave the scene. Hmmmmm. In Ghana, we have many Military Personnel held up in Barracks and Military Camps doing nothing while we are overwhelmed by Armed Robbery and Highway Robberies and Attacks. What do the Military Personnel do really in Ghana? They are always struggling to be sent on Military Corps Operations to the Middle East while our roads and Communities are not safe because of attacks from Armed Robbers. Please, place our Military Personnel into good use that can benefit the Community. Just don't camp them at the Military Barracks and Camps where they do nothing, except to get to town and threaten and molest people. What does the Military Personnel do in Ghana for Ghanaians. Dressing up in Military Fatigue and moving around in unsanctioned operations is totally foolish, nonsensical, and useless.

They usually even struggled to be sent to the Middle East on Peace Keeping. Why don't we use the many Military Personnel we have to combat the Armed Robbery and Highway Robberies that have worsened with the influx of Nigerians into Ghana. Why can't we work with our neighboring countries like Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Cote d'Ivoire to prevent Nigerian Religious and Militants from coming to live in Ghana and engage in Criminal Activities. A brother or sister or child or parent may often side with outsiders or with other extended family members or in-laws to denigrate another close family member not realizing that they are exposing themselves to similar evaluation and judgement sooner or later. THE JUDGEMENT WE DISH OUT TO OTHERS WILL INEVITABLY OPEN US ALSO TO THE SAME OR SIMILAR JUDGEMENT BY OTHERS. This is s spiritual principle. We should never add fuel to the fire that a family member finds themselves in even if it is of their own making. The Kwabenya checkpoint close to the container police station at around 9.45pm (they start their barrier sometimes as early as 8pm and close before 12 mid night when needed. Then at car patrol usuall setup haphazardly after the small bridge inbetween Wisconsin University and Papa's pizza. They too demanded money. I didn't pay any. What thr fcuk is going on? I've ordered for camera's on my car. Going to post these guys and send it the police HQ. The police so far doing a good job when tagged. The asking for money is just becoming too much
