So I beg to differ. I don’t think it is accurate to say that a cleaning job in the UK is “10,000 times better” than a white-collar job in Ghana. That is an overly simplistic and, in my view, ill-informed way of assessing someone’s standard of living.

You have to consider the cost of living, including rent, utilities, food, transportation, and other expenses, rather than simply comparing the wages in isolation. A higher salary does not automatically mean a higher standard of living.

So the blacks in the UK in higher salaried jobs who steal and the cleaners who steal as well and end up dying from cardiac arrest due to doing two or three jobs at a time, to this idiot are better than a Ghc15k salary Ghanaian worker ?. Shows you the amount of cotton wool in this guy's head. Its mostly those straight from the village who talk like this, but you can't blame them. That's what their cotton wool brain tells them. The person in a ghc15k job does he know the opportunities and networking that will come that person's way compared to someone waking up in the freezing cold at dawn to go and do two or three cleaning jobs before 7.30am and then go to another day job. They could be sharing 6 people in one small room, but because some of them would be working during the night and other shifts, they are able survive that. Even presently some of the professionals are living from hand to mouth. SIMPLY no where cool, my brothers and sisters. This particular people, if you make the mistake to make them your first hosts in the UK. You may loose your life if God doesn't get to save you. So be careful with this type of Ghanaians .

Ghana youth ignore these hopeless guys suffering in UK but pretending to be ok. Most Ghanaians in UK are suffering and can't even find jobs. The cost of living is quite high and even Ghanaian nurses living there are complaining. Some run away to the US including those in Germany and Italy. A salary of $50,000 abroad sounds big but in reality equate to poverty because you won't be able to pay all your bills and save for tomorrow unknowns. When Ghanaians hear things like these in Ghana they think it's a lot so everyone wants to travel but please be warned, in the US, even a salary of $100,000 per year is nothing. The cost of living is quite high and you can't really do much after paying all your expenses each year. In Ghana one can make $1000 per month but still do far better than someone living abroad because of lower cost of living. Please people living abroad aren't telling you the truth. In America the only thing you can get easily is food but to save money please forget about it unless you found your luck in some good business. Other than that, every salary worker abroad is struggling just like those they left behind in their various countries. As Bob rightly put it, tell the children the truth and stop lying about good life abroad
