Instead, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) relies on a combination of basic physical resistance checks, localized sensor upgrades on new train models, and human conductors. In this instance, I will assume that before the conductor moved the train, he failed to check to see if all doors were all closed and cleared of any obstacles. MTA and the train conductor should be held responsible for the passenger's death.

Using the subway needs a lot of attention. The man might have descended and stood right in front of the door instead of moving aside. Last month I saw an African woman who rushed to use her baby pram with the baby inside to block a subway door that was closing for the train to move. The pram got stuck between the doors and the woman started shouting and panicking. Passengers in the train had to rush and force the door open before the pram and the baby were saved. She was lucky the train had about 30 seconds before moving. Some people, with due respect, are very stupid.
