Didn't these fans know from day one that Ghana is no longer producing any having the kind of players that mostly wins matches no matter the opposition?
To have faith in the team and cheer them up to when they scored their second goal, is it the case that a totally different team and coach was brought in to continue the game after the second goal?
The sad Gospel truth is that Ghana is no longer producing NATURALLY GIFTED AND TALENTED FOOTBALLERS as we used to do, instead what Ghana is now producing is people who merely learn HOW TO KICK a football, HOW TO SHOOT a football, HOW TO CROSS a football, HOW TO HEAD a football, HOW TO RUN FAST, and HOW TO RUN WITH a football and call themselves FOOTBALL PLAYERS instead of FOOTBALL KICKERS. And these FOOTBALL KICKERS will then look for a so-called manager to pay for him to be chosen.
For this reason, Ghana football is currently full of TOO MANY FOOTBALL KICKERS instead of FOOTBALL PLAYERS.
A team with more FOOTBALL PLAYERS wins most of their matches, and the matches they lose is mostly based on what we call hard luck, while a team with more FOOTBALL KICKERS lose most of their matches, and the matches they win is mostly based on what we call good luck.
This is simply because just like in every sector of the country, the footballing sector has been taken over and being run by VERY SELFISH AND GREEDY people who know absolutely nothing about football and who is a FOOTBALL PLAYER, but are there ONLY FOR THEIR POCKET.
Until we get people who truly understands football, who are full of integrity, who genuinely and sincerely want Ghana football to get the level that is expected, a time will come when there will not be anything like football to watch and talk about in Ghana.

Most of the current national.team players are in their late 30s but patterning to be in their 20s. They are too old to compete with the young Gambians.

The argument that Ghana’s current football problems are simply the result of players from the 1995 or 1997 U-17 teams eventually reaching the senior national team does not hold up.

If that analogy were correct, then the Black Stars of the late 1990s and early 2000s should also have been poor, because those generations supposedly contained over-aged players who eventually graduated into the senior national team. Yet Ghana produced some of its strongest generations during that period.

When Ghana supposedly began using the correct ages in youth competitions, what have we achieved? We have often struggled even to qualify for the African youth tournaments, let alone the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The frustration among supporters is not simply about age verification. It is about how players are identified and selected in the first place

There are widespread concerns that selection for our junior national teams has become influenced by favoritism, connections and agency affiliations. If opportunities are concentrated around players managed by certain people within the football establishment, then talented players outside those networks can easily be overlooked.

In the past, coaches such as Fred Osam-Duodu and others involved in Ghana's youth development were able to identify players from the grassroots based primarily on what they saw on the pitch. Players who were relatively unknown could be discovered, developed and eventually become national stars.

That pathway appears to have weakened.

Our colts football structure is struggling, and questions have been raised about the resources going to grassroots and colts teams. Meanwhile, the domestic Premier League has its own problems, including concerns from supporters about refereeing, administration and fairness.

Players such as Michael Essien, John Mensah, Derek Boateng and others did not simply appear out of nowhere. They came through a football development system by Ben Koffies that was capable of identifying and developing talent over many years.

So the important question for today's GFA leadership is:

What concrete mechanisms are being used to discover the next generation of Michael Essien, John Mensah, Derek Boateng, Sulley Muntari and John Paintsil?

Are scouts genuinely travelling throughout the country and identifying the best players based on performance?

Are talented players from smaller clubs and communities receiving the same opportunities as players connected to influential academies, agents or football administrators?

Are our junior national-team selections based primarily on merit and performance?

And are resources actually reaching grassroots football, where many of Ghana's best talents have historically been discovered?

The 2026 Black Stars cannot simply be blamed on what happened with the 1995 or 1997 U-17 teams. A senior national team in 2026 is the product of the entire player-development system over few years ago. If Kurt Okraku turner had produced quality under 17 or Under 20 national team players they would have been useful to the current Black Star squad.

If Ghana wants another generation of world-class players, the solution is not merely arguing about the ages of players from three decades ago. We need to examine how today's children are being scouted, coached, selected and developed.

2) Give talented Ghanaian players a genuine opportunity, regardless of their club, agent or connections. Let performance on the pitch determine who gets the chance.
