Spinal injury patients especially in countries like Ghana have to suffer the added indignity of being surrounded by incredibly ignorant or ill- informed people. Such people whether relatives, friends or acquaintances can add to the emotional agony and misery of spinal injury patients.
WIDESPREAD IGNORANCE ABOUT A WIDE VARIETY OF MEDICAL CONDITIONS TURNS THE LIFE OF MANY PATIENTS UPSIDE DOWN IN GHANA. Superstition, arrogance and malicious gossip all play their part.
Government instigated public health education at every level is the way out of this morass.
