  State should stop funding accomodation for state employees including ministers. Police can be given loans instead to buy their house and pay over 25 years. To facilitate this, transfers must stop unless requested by the officer himself. Most ministers in the UK don't have a dedicated official car. They request a vehicle from a pool of government vehicles if they need one. We have to really prioritise on need rather than those making decisions making sure they are comfortable

  The time has come to scrap the colonial police barracks housing system. In modern times, police officers ought to live or "embedded" in the various communities.
  Like teachers, police officers must be made to house themselves.
