It was a scene of free shopping for residents of Ekumfi Akotsi and Ekumfi Dunkwa in the Central Region after a 40-foot cargo truck transporting cloth was involved in an accident along the Mankessim-Accra stretch of the highway.

The truck, which was reportedly transporting the goods from Tema Harbour to the Ivory Coast, was involved in an accident that left several pieces of cloth scattered along the road.

Upon realising that the truck was carrying large quantities of cloth, residents from nearby communities rushed to the accident scene to collect some of the scattered items.

In a video circulating on social media, several residents could be seen scrambling for the cloth, with some collecting multiple pieces while others packed their share into tricycles to transport them home.
