A mother of three, Abena Asantewaa, from Dunka in the Ashanti Region, has dragged her former husband, Church of Pentecost elder Emmanuel Amuzu, to Oyerepa Afutuo, a programme that resolves domestic disputes on Oyerepa TV, over a financial disagreement following the breakdown of their 13-year marriage.

Appearing on the programme on October 16, 2026, Asantewaa demanded a refund of GH¢300,000, which she claimed she spent on items on the marriage list provided by her family before their wedding.

According to her, the marriage was unhappy despite producing three children, adding that she had come to regret marrying the church elder because of what she described as years of dissatisfaction and unresolved marital problems.

Asantewaa explained that when her husband was preparing to marry her, he was building a house and told her he could not afford the items on the marriage list.

She said he therefore asked her to purchase the items, promising to reimburse her later.

She alleged that after the wedding, her husband neither refunded the money she had spent on the marriage list nor accounted for part of the money received during the ceremony.

The woman further claimed that the couple had communication problems and that her husband always wore boxer shorts and trousers, even in circumstances where she expected greater intimacy between them.

She also made claims about their sexual relationship, alleging that her husband forced himself on her and that she often cried during intercourse.

"I have never seen my husband's manhood before. Even if someone asks me what it looks like, I would not know what to say. Despite having three children with him over the past 13 years, I have never seen it," she said.

Asantewaa disclosed that she reported the marital difficulties to a church elder but her husband allegedly questioned why she had taken their private issues to the church leadership.

She further claimed that the elder described her husband as a holy man and advised her to be patient with him.

According to her, the elder also said he had bought a pornographic film for her husband to watch and learn from but she alleged that he watched it alone.

Asantewaa said the couple had since separated, adding that her former husband had married her best friend, while she was also in a new relationship.

Despite the separation, she insisted that her former husband should refund the GH¢300,000 she claimed to have spent on the marriage list.

When contacted on the programme, Amuzu denied owing his former wife the money she was demanding.

The host subsequently directed Asantewaa to provide the marriage list for examination as part of efforts to establish the details of her claim and help resolve the financial dispute between the former couple.
