This issue of rape in Obuasi SECTECH beings us back to the debate on boarding housing in our secondary school. I think it's time we start the discussion on facing it out.Teachers are overstretched in managing the system and govt cannot adequately compensate them. Again the drop in the moral values of our youth is creating more problems for our teachers. I'm not trying to deny that this problem wasn't there in the 80s when we were in school but the level has risen beyond its management.

That is very true. GES is very notorious for protecting teachers who abuse students sexually. The worst these teachers get are transfers to a new station to go continue their criminal activities. They always shield them.

GES encourages sexual assault on children at SHS in Ghana. The protect the perpetrators whiles those who speak out and victimized as bringing their issues our and reward those who conceal those crimes. 3 years ago the Benkum SHS headmaster Kwaku Nyarko was interdicted and later transferred to the office for rape and sexual assault on students. And once things cooled down he has now been promoted to become a district director of education in one of the regions. GES simply transfer these sexual offenders instead of totally dismissing them and put them on trial. These perpetrators continue their predatory behavior thinking, the worse thing that can happen to them is transfer. Now there are sexual abuse cases in Benkum and the headmaster and the regional director in Koforidua are sitting on it and trying to shield the perpetrators. And surprisingly the regional director is a female. Manase should visit Benkum Senior high school in the eastern region.

The teachers of Obuasi SHTS. are also corrupt and it's no doubt that more male teachers in this school are equally involved in abusing the female students.

In fact it has even been reported that some female teachers even promote the girls to the men. They rather transfer the teachers to go get fresh girls.
