BAIL PENDING APPEAL IS THE BEST OPTION
During his political campaign, JD Mahama promised to set free all the galamseyers who had been imprisoned for illegal mining during the Akufo-Addo regime. The guys who did the illegal mining in the mining concession of Wontumi were set free as Mahama had promised. So, Wontumi ought to have been compelled to reclaim the devastated lands as he was doing and be fined for the loss of the state natural resources.
Understandably the grant of bail pending the appeal is the right thing to do. The several weeks spent in confinement are punishment to his body and social respect.
