All Ghanaians know is the book long which they acquire but practically can’t perform to deliver the goods. In the western world you find people finishing college yet this gives them very high technical skills eg electricals etc but mann high technology machines and are merely called handymen but paid of as low as £7/hr.
Such people they come to Ghana and are given high titles like say “Electrical Engineer and so on and so forth. Though they have been given such high rating they tend to be non performing stagnating development. Besides become very irresponsible because they have been highly rated disproportionately relative to their low academic gains.
You were given jobs in Ghana as Minister for Education, Trade and Industry in government etc but you proved yourself capable and served with excellence. We want delivery of the goods not big educational titles with nothing to show practically.
You have shown your worth practically relative to your academic status and achievements.
Leave this simple humble man alone.

To be honest with you, I personally have always thought that you were an Academic Dr - not necessarily a PhD holder - (ie an academic Doctorate without the thesis or research work) - because anytime you speak you sound very intelligent. In any case kudos to GTEC, for the work they are doing. Going forwards if anyone does NOT have a thesis or research work to support it - they should NOT call themselves DR - it probably opens a lot of opportunities using it - but it is confusing. And as rightly pointed out here, I have never heard Clinton call himself Dr, neither has anyone ever called him Dr Clinton but in my humble opinion he is the most intelligent US President (in my lifetime!

1. PhD holders should simply indicate PhD after their names and be called doctor of say, Agric; or Political Science etc

2. Medical Doctors should write Dr. (Med.), Dr. (Den), Dr.( Pharm) etc.

3. Alternative or Herbal Medical Practitioners, Dr. (Alt.) or Dr. (Herb.)

4. Veterinary Doctors, Dr. (Vet.)

5. Osɔfo Doctor, Dr. (Gosp.) or Dr. (Pas)

6. Honorary Doctors, Dr. (Hon'y)

Just to clear the ongoing confusion. My opinion is that those who are conferred with Honorary Doctorate degrees should be allowed to use them. Why should they we bury in boxes, honours conferred on us by recognized reputable institutions.

Americans don't normally use doctor titles hence President Clinton and others are not referred to as Dr. Clinton etc.
