The same AFRC exists today with a new name called NDC. The same jealousy and hatred exists in them. Any successful person is seen as corrupt and therefore an enemy. At the moment Wontumi who went for a loan just like Amedume is seen as an enemy who for the sake of democracy would have been killed by them since they see it as corruption. Meanwhile they have stolen millions of dollars from the Ghanaian tax payer through evacuation from South Africa. They have been caught pants down in a scandal in the name World Cup. They are simply embittered thieves.

The terrible truth is that Rawlings, his wife and their cronies went on to strip the country bare over a period stretching over two decades. The very crimes they accused others of they went on to commit on an eye-watering scale. It would be laughable if not tragic to think of the sums of money these people were accused of stealing and subsequently executed for these trumped up charges. Then there is the case of the murdered Judges.
All in all it can be confidently stated that Rawlings' presided over a thuggish regime that did a great deal of harm to Ghana's Socio-Economic wellbeing on many levels. His rule set Ghana's development back by at least 2- decades.
It is even more shocking today to hear younger generations of Ghanaians, most of whom were either not yet born or were mere toddlers during JJ Rawlings' reign of terror glorifying or deifying the tyrant.
History will judge very harshly JJ Rawlings for imposing a very dark era on Ghanaians.

Rear Admiral Joy Felix Amedume born on October 6, 1941 attended Achimota College and later enlisted into the Ghana Military Academy for training as an officer cadet.

He later attended the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, United Kingdom for overseas training and was subsequently commissioned with the service number GH/497.

By dint of diligence and dedication to duty, he occupied the position of Commissioner for Labour, Social Welfare and Co-operatives.

He later became the Commissioner for both the Ashanti and Central Regions.

Handsome and intimidatingly framed, he served as Chief of Naval Staff on twice, a record he shares with Rear Admiral Chemogoh Kevin Dzang.

We don't want union government led to two coups, with lost of lives of of the best the Ghana Army has trained.
Until 2018 I did not know that the late Air Vice Marshal Amedume and I were related.
I alighted from a vehicle from Afenya at Tema Roundabout and was going to board a vehicle to Nii Boi Man, when I heard a voice saying uncle wait, I want to talk to you.
There were many men going about their work and also looking for vehicles to take them to their destinations.
So, i did not pay attention, until the one telling his uncle to stop identified me with the shirt I was wearing.
I stopped and person got behind me, I then turned towards him. He mentioned his name and said that I resemble his late father Joy Amedume. He did not stop there, he went further to say that from the manner in which I received him he was happy to have today met an uncle.
I told him that though I by birth a native of Keta, but I only got to know some of my relatives in Keta after the late 1980s. That I came from Eshime.
He still insisted that I am his uncle and that he is so happy to have met me. I suddenly realized that it may be true that I resemble his late father and having met me want to have a few moment with me in a family environment.
I asked where he lives and he said Fadama. So, I said the two of us will alight at Nii Boi junction.
Then I said the problem with me is that I did not grow up in Anlo and as I said earlier got to know that my relatives are in Anloga, Tegbui and Dzelukofe, where my grandfather had his youthful years before being taken by his grandfather Togbui Shiboi II to Trekume. My father and his siblings call Dzelu junior uncle been a member of the Dzorvie clan, and I because I am Eklevi, so, my origin will be at Anloga.
We arrived home and my late brother was around so after greetings and other ceremonies I told my brother that the gentleman said that he is the son of Air Vice Marshal Joy Amedume.
My brother said you see I have been saying that you are a foolish boy who don't know your relatives, so you don't know that the late JOy Amedume is your brother.
On that day I feel like a father with a matured son.
