Apparently, those dates lying in the future were either typos or exchange of dates of expiry and date of birth. I couldn't see why anybody would think that the foreign minister would use a date lying in the future (like ..2038) to be year of birth. When I listened to a news presenter on one of our radio stations alleging that the date of birth of some of our repatriated brethren from South Africa is 2034, I knew it was passport expiry date, but what saddened me is the lack of due diligence done by the presenter/researcher. All that our media houses are interested in is who breaks the news first.

How on earth can this be taken as true in this digital age, that expiry dates of passports were wrongly given as dates of birth ? No computer will accept expiry dates of passports as dates of birth unless it's excel.
