Sports journalist Saddick Adams and ex-Black Stars captain Dede Ayew
Renowned sports journalist Saddick Adams has declared his support for former Black Stars captain André Dede Ayew to contest the presidency of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) should he decide to run for the position.
He commended the former Olympique Marseille attacker for his boldness in considering a challenge for one of the highest positions in Ghanaian football, saying it would allow him to put his experience to use.
The Angel FM journalist also rejected attempts by some individuals to belittle Ayew and question his competence for the role. He argued that such criticism was unhelpful, adding that Ghanaian football needs fresh ideas and new leadership.

“Dede has not personally declared his intention to contest the GFA presidency, but everything around him shows there’s an interest. He is very bold to even begin at this age to contest, although we don’t know what he is bringing on board. I support the bid of anyone ambitious. Some people question what he can do; it’s like that, but the only thing is that we need a breath of fresh air at the FA. Some leaders need to go,” he said while speaking on Angel FM.
Saddick Adams further reiterated his support for Ayew, expressing hope that the former captain has the necessary qualifications to take up the role.
“So I support André’s bid; nobody should speak against him. Many ex-footballers are timid. I hope he has a certificate in management because he is already overqualified. He has captained the U-20 and almost all the national teams. We should give the young boy the opportunity to do what he wants,” he added.
