AKONTA MINING COMPANY LIMITED is the licensed mining company but the name on lips is WONTUMI whereas no mention is made of ADAMUS RESOURCES LIMITED even though both companies breached the mining laws of Ghana.

Patriotic citizens should be glad that politicians are beginning to think therefore jailing each other on illegal mining. ● Wontumi allowed a guy to do land reclamation in already mined section of his licensed mining concession. While reclaiming the lands, the guy ganged up with his colleague to do galamsey in a portion of the concession of Wontumi. Now Wontumi is in prison for the galamsey activities in his concession.
● Those galamseyers who did illegal mining in the mining concession of Wontumi also did illegal mining in the Forest Reserve which was on the border of Wontumi concession, destroying timber trees and damaging the land and waterbodies. Fresh case.
