A national carrier is a source of great national pride! However it is not a priority right now and is even less appealing if we reflect on how we have destroyed Ghana Airways over and over again in the past!

I believe the new airways will have its own management and board so the minister has no problem with that but my issue is whether we want this back because of pride or for normal business because running airlines no be easy b ...

The airline space is overly competitive and risky. By operating a single airplane combined with indiscipline and the level of corruption in our DNA there’s no way Ghana national airlines will be profitable.
At any point in time there will be more than 50% of the passengers on board being airline workers and real or fake family members enjoying free flights or paying a token. Most of whom will be using first or business class.
I wish we did not own a national airline. It will surely fail. Many of us have no idea how many national airlines have gone under the water. Allah Wahakubaru

We can not even run our little domestic railway system let alone running an airline. Ghana is too disfunctional and too disorganized to run a successful airline. Besides, we lack maintenance culture to keep the airplanes safe ...

Besides, we lack maintenance culture to keep the airplanes safe. Personally, I will not dare to board a Ghana airways flight for fear of poor maintenance of the aircraft.

Ghana Airways would still have been operational today if
our Ghanaian staff had been honest and patriotic in the discharge of their duties . The Ghanaian staff had been corrupt and turned the airline into a family and friends business. Business people had monopolized the airline and other passengers arrived at their destinations without their luggage because priority was given to the business people who paid their way to make sure their goods accompanied them. Some Ghanaians could not get their luggage before returning to destinations. If the new Ghana Airlines is to succeed, then its strategic operation should be contracted to other foreign nationals. Unfortunately the Ghanaian staff collapsed the previous Ghana Airways and we should be ashamed of ourselves. How could Ghana not have our own national airline when other countries in the sub region have their own. It is a shame .
