The venerable Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah within a space of six years transformed Ghana overwhelmingly,he had clues,he had purpose and he had a vision. Nkrumah's legacies are what is still driving the economy of Ghana even into the 21st century. If the president had a term of 5 years, Mahama would have succeeded President Mill for almost 3 years, had served his own term for another 5 years making a total of 8 years. If he ever won power again like he did, that would have been another 5 making a total of 13 years.

Imagine.

Mahama would have acquired every state asset if he had that length of time. Ghana would have been on its knees and I don’t think there would have been any free SHS to start with.

Democracy is not only about elections. His Excellency, Mr. Kufuor should rather advocate that power cascades to all levels up to the unit committees.

There should be proper structures that make regions autonomous so they can hire teachers, nurses, police, et al. We cannot give all the powers to those in Accra only.
