Otto Addo was sacked by the GFA in March 2026
Former Black Stars coach Otto Addo is reportedly demanding more than $750,000 from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over unpaid salaries, bonuses and other contractual entitlements following the termination of his contract in March 2026.
Addo has reportedly taken the matter to FIFA after efforts to secure payment from the GFA failed. He is seeking to recover outstanding financial obligations from his second spell in charge of the national team.
According to reports, the 50-year-old is claiming approximately 15 months of unpaid wages, in addition to other benefits stipulated in his contract.
Addo reportedly earned $50,000 per month under his agreement with the GFA, bringing the salary arrears alone to $750,000, excluding bonuses and other contractual entitlements.

His claim follows the GFA’s decision to terminate his contract on March 31, 2026, after Ghana suffered consecutive friendly defeats to Austria and Germany during the March international window.
The Black Stars were beaten 5-1 by Austria in Vienna before losing 2-1 to Germany in Stuttgart, extending their losing streak to four matches.
The dismissal came just 72 days before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, for which Ghana had been preparing to face England and other opponents in the group stage.
Addo returned for a second spell as Black Stars coach in March 2024, having previously managed the team between 2022 and 2023.
