Akufo Addo enabled the destruction by granting access to the forest and by extension the rivers springing up in the forests by granting 1000 permits. It was the Western Region Minister, Darko Mensah who called the galamseyers to a meeting and assured them the government would turn blind eyes to their activities that has brought us here. And Afenyo is doing what, grand standing? He should get off the soap box or the beer box(assuming he is old enough to remember beer boxes). Afenyo has lost all credibility. He is a terrible face for the NPP.

Galamsey was never done in chiefs palaces nor jubilee house. Pollution of water bodies started in 2017 when Wontumi went to China to bring the Chinese who came with their chanfangs. Wontumi is also the first person to encroach forest reserve for galamsey after over 70 years existence. All these years people were doing galamsey responsibly until 2017 when the Chanfangs showed up
