So with this info, we Ghanaians expect the NDC to put their home in order. We can not take the risk of putting our dear nation in the hands of the NPP. So Tanko should stop the arrogance and do the needful.

MAHAMA CAME TO POWER IN DECEMBER 2024 LARGELY WITH THE VOTERS WHO ARE FROM THE AKAN ETHNIC GROUP (THE LARGEST ETHNIC GROUP IN GHANA ACCOUNTING FOR 45.5% OF THE ELECTORATE) BUT ARE IN THE ELECTORALLY-SWING VOTERS SUBGROUP OF AKAN VOTERS, ROUGHLY 25.5% OF THE ELECTORATE. MAHAMA GOT AN ESTIMATED 16.5% OF THAT VOTE, BAWUMIA GOT 8% AND THE OTHER 1% WENT TO THE SMALL PARTIES WHICH GARNERED 1.8% NATIONAL VOTE. OVERALL, AKANS GAVE MAHAMA ABOUT 20% OF THE TOTAL VOTE ALLOWING HIM TO MOVE FROM HIS 36.5% CORE NON-AKANS VOTES TO 56.5%. NDC CAN ACTUALLY LOSE THE DECEMBER 2028 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION GIVEN THE MASSIVE 29% COCOA PRODUCER PRICE CUT ENACTED ON 12 FEBRUARY 2026, THE FIRST COCOA PRODUCER PRICE REDUCTION IN GHANA SINCE THE GHANA COCOA BOARD WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1947. NDC CANNOT SIMPLY BE TRUSTED AGAIN AFTER PROMISING TO RAISE COCOA PRODUCER PRICE FROM 3100 CEDIS PER BAG TO 6000 CEDIS PER BAG AND ACTUALLY REDUCING THE PRICE TO 2587 CEDIS PER BAG. THE COCOA PRICE REDUCTION HAS DRIVEN MOST COCOA FARMERS INTO SEVERE POVERTY. AS IT STANDS NDC WILL LOSE BETWEEN 35 TO 50 SEATS BRINGING THEIR CURRENT NUMBER OF SEATS FROM 185 TO BETWEEN 130 TO 150 SEATS. OTHER FACTORS WILL DECIDE THE OUTCOME OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION BUT THE LARGE LOSS OF PARALIAMENTARY SEATS IN THE AKAN AREAS IS A FOREGONE CONCLUSION WHICH CANNOT BE REVERSED EVEN IF NDC RAISES COCOA PRICES IN 2028 SIGNIFICANTLY BEYOND THE 2% THAT THEY GAVE FARMERS LAST MONTH IN OCTOBER 2026. THE SIMPLE FACT IS THAT NDC CANNOT BE TRUSTED. NO GOVERNMENT IN GHANA INCLUDING THE COLONIAL GOVERNMENT EVER REDUCED COCOA PRICES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COCOA PRODUCTION SEASON AS NDC DID THIS YEAR. THE STORY IS SIMILAR TO DONALD JOHN (DJ) TRUMP WHO PROMISED TO END THE FOREVER WARS ORGANIZED BY THE UNITED STATES AND ACTUALLY ENGAGED IN POINTLESS AND FRUITLESS WARS THAT HURT THE ECONOMIES OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE WORLD. DRAMANI JOHN (DJ) MAHAMA, A LEADER WHO WAS ALSO RE-ELECTED AFTER LOSING A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, ALSO PROMISED INCREASED WELFARE OF FARMERS AND ACTUALLY BECAME THE FIRST NATIONAL LEADER OF GHANA TO REDUCE COCOA PRICES WITHIN THE COCOA PRODUCTION YEAR, AN ACTION HIS MENTOR, KWAME NKRUMAH NEVER DID EVEN WHEN WORLD COCOA PRICES FELL TO THE LOWEST LEVELS EVER IN 1965 OF AROUND 200 US DOLLARS PER TONNE.
