The Implications of Overvotes
Under our electoral laws, the Presiding Officers, acting as agents of the Electoral
Commissioner (EC), are mandated to complete Column C of the so-called Pink Sheets
(Statement of Poll and Declaration of Results for the Office of President) at the END of
the poll before counting commences.
Column C of the pink sheet is titled "Ballot Accounting" and it is an important in-built
control mechanism for assuring the validity and fairness of the election outcomes. To
achieve its control purpose, the Presiding Officer must fill Column C before counting
commences. Otherwise, electoral shenanigans can be perpetrated and covered by simply
working backwards from the counted results, thereby negating the control function.
There are 6 parts to Column C (C1 to C6) and each part requires a critical pre-counting
data:
In C1, the officer is to record the total number of ballots issued to voters on the polling
station register. Column C1 is the key control for detecting overvotes and undervotes.
Most auditors will recognize that as a “control total.” If no overvotes and undervotes are
present, then all the votes counted at the polling station (valid + rejected) should equal to
this Control Total.
In C4 is the total number of spoilt ballots. This is not to be confused with the total
number of rejected ballots in Column D6 of the pink sheet. Rejected ballots are votes cast
by actual voters that are not credited to any candidate, for a variety of reasons including,
not making a mark for a candidate or marking two candidates. Rejected ballots are only
identified and counted during the counting process. A spoilt ballot is one that was never
cast by a voter. Spoilt ballots arise when a voter inadvertently deals with his ballot paper
in such a manner that it cannot be used as ballot paper and is reissued a new ballot paper.
These are also tracked as part of the electoral controls.
Spoilt votes are not included in C1. Other parts of Column C are important but not
essential to this conversation on overvotes.
When the control total (C1) is less than the counted votes, we have “overvotes.” When
the control total is more than the counted votes, we have “undervotes.” Both situations
are problematic and must be investigated promptly by the Presiding Officer. In any event,
unless reconciliation is achieved, the EC should not include that polling outcome when
collating results in the strong room. This is because overvotes and undervotes are prima
facie wrong, irregular and problematic. They call for mandatory investigation. In my
opinion, the EC acts recklessly, at a minimum, and puts the election outcome in serious
jeopardy if he knowingly includes overvotes and undervotes in his collation.
An overvote means that the total number of ballots in the ballot box exceed the total
number of ballots issued to voters. In effect, overvotes is a clear and compelling
signal that ghost or phantom votes have been counted.
Consider polling station code 262203 (with the unique serial number 0017717) shown by
Dr. Bawumia in his presentation. To my knowledge, the contents of that have not been
challenged or are in dispute.
The number in box C1 is 277. This is the Control Total ? the number entered before any
counting of votes (rejected or valid). It is the number of people who showed up to vote on
voting day and were given ballot papers.
Of the 277 who showed up to vote, serial number 0017717 shows that all 277 cast a valid
ballot and 14 of them also cast a rejected ballot.
That means counted ballots was 291 compared to actual ballots issued of 277.
Strange? Yes. Very strange. Impossible. Irregularity. Irrational. Overvotes. This is the
exact purpose of the controls built in the pink sheets. The Presiding Officer must
reconcile this result before transmitting it to the collation centers and without
reconciliation they must be returned to the Presiding Officer, as not ready or valid for
collation!
According to Dr. Bawumia, this phenomenon was replicated throughout the country,
resulting in 620,443 ballots cast by "people who did not show up to vote."
If this is, indeed, true, and there is no reason to doubt its validity, it is a cause for serious
concern, at least, for any well meaning Ghanaian or anyone who has honour and believes
in fairness, justice and truth.
This electoral malaise is not something that any well-meaning Ghanaian should celebrate.
This is a national electoral tragedy that, in my opinion, certainly raises serious questions
about the 2012 Presidential election outcome and probably will be a matter of grave
concern for the Justices of the Supreme Court, into whose laps this disturbing evidence
has been entrusted.
Our Laws and Courts have taken, as they should, a very serious view of electoral
irregularities. While the statutes are better defined and the case law is clearer on
parliamentary elections, it stands to reason that irregularities at the Presidential level will
attract a similar, if not more heightened, level of scrutiny.
Under section 20(1) of the Representation of the People Law, 1992 (PNDCL 284), the
election of a candidate shall be declared void on an election petition if the High Court is
satisfied:
(a) that general bribery, general treating, general intimidation or other misconduct or
circumstances, whether similar to those specified in the Law or not, have so extensively
prevailed that they may reasonably be supposed to have affected the result of the election;
(b) that there has been non-compliance with a provision of the Act or of the regulations
and that it appears that the election was not conducted in accordance with the principles
laid down by law and that the non- compliance affected the result of the election;
(c) that a corrupt or illegal practice was committed in connection with the election by the
candidate or with the knowledge or consent of the candidate or by an agent; or
Overvotes of over 620,443 seems like the pervasive misconduct that this law had in mind.
In my chats in the social media, a few people have noted that irregularities in elections
are unavoidable and occur in every country. These comments are, of course, misplaced.
What we have here is not just an irregularity but also a gargantuan potential outcomealtering
irregularity. No democracy can be built or sustained on such a farce. No court
will be willfully blind to such a falsehood.
Our high courts have also applied the scrutiny doctrine as another ground for the possible
cancellation of election results. Here the high court directs the EC or other persons,
authorized by the Court, to scrutinize the ballots. On a scrutiny order, votes that are
illegally procured are rejected.
The court's standing on irregularities and application of the scrutiny doctrine is
highlighted in Enos v Electoral Commission [1999-2000] 1 GLR 564 at 565 (holding that
"even though the election itself had been conducted in accordance with the law, the court
found that had the breaches by the returning officer of the Electoral Commission not
occurred, the petitioner would have been declared the winner. The petitioner had
therefore been caused incalculable harm by the breaches caused by the officer, which had
substantially affected the results. Accordingly, in compliance with section 19(b) of
PNDCL 284, the court declared the petitioner, and not the respondent, as duly elected.
Furthermore, in compliance with section 22(1) of PNDCL 284, the court certified its
decision to the Electoral Commission."
In conclusion, our laws on electoral irregularities are abundantly clear. Potential
outcome-altering irregularities are not to be countenanced and are to be invalidated!
I reiterate my humble plea to everyone to calm down, resist the temptation to be
emotional, treat the issues dispassionately, seek the truth, and to avoid confrontations,
insults, invectives, innuendos and insinuations!
The issue before the Supreme Court is what is the true result of the 2012 Presidential
elections. All of us will win by seeking and finding the truth. Falsehood will be the only
casualty in this search for truth!

I don't need to go over every step. I find their evidence so porous and disgusting. I feel ashamed for Ghana that two previous AG office holders are involved and dabbling in this mess. @mantse: SHS has long been free yet. How much did it ocst your parents to send you to school? NDC brought water, electricity and good roads to my village. I will forever vote NDC to continue the good work.

The supreme court suit Petitioners are NPP Presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo, NPP Vice Presidential candidate Dr Bawumia and NPP Party Chairman Jake Obetebey Lamptey. These three entities launched the supreme court writ from the wings of the NPP party.
President-elect Mahama did not run as Independent candidate. NDC Party launched, sponsored and funded President-elect Mahama as their Presidential candidate, so it is ironic that the writ detached the NDC party from its presidential candidate.
I guess they took NDC forgranted.
There is no name that NPP and its supporters have'nt called NDC. IC Quaye, Jake, Akomea, Sir John and sundry have called them thiefs, daylight rubbers etc.
If NPP court case fails, the following is what I see coming.
1. President Mahama will brush the dusts off himself and move on with his presidential business.
2. EC Dr Afari Gyan and his officers wll lament but would do little other than walk chest out and go after their businesses.
3. But the empowered NDC party would have been "ordained" the holiest party. We can imagine how incessantly NDC will drag the image of the NPP Party in the muc. Senior and wise members of the NPP party forsaw it coming and advised.
Let's pray the supreme court case succeeds, but I am cautiously optimistic. My reason is that the writ Daily Guide published does not seem to lay emphasis on the claim that 1.3 million votes were stollen for NDC as touted in the public arena many times. It shows lack of enough evidence to prove the stealling act in court. Stating that some voting without verifying machine accounted for 1.3 million votes in favor of John Mahama, to me, is not strong enough. If the total number of biometric registered voters list was not ballooned to 1.3 million excess, then there was no probable stealling but procedural flaws, which to me is not fundamental breach that calls for elections result nulfication.

The Chairman for the Electoral Commission, Dr kwadwo Afari Gyan has declared Ghana’s incumbent president John Dramani Mahama, the winner of the 2012 presidential elections.
President Mahama who ran on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), polled 5,574,761 representing 50.70% to win the polls held on Friday and Saturday.
The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Akufo-Addo had 5,248,898 of the valid votes cast, representing 47.74%.
Out of a total of 14,158,890 registered voters, 11,246,982 voters exercised their franchise. 10,995,262 of this number were deemed valid. The total rejected votes stood at 251,720. The turnout in the 275 constituencies is 79.43%
The flag-bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom placed third in the elections with 64,362 votes representing 0.59. CLICK HERE to download the official detailed results.

The President
(1) There shall be a President of the Republic of Ghana who shall be the Head of State and Head of Government and Commander-in Chief of the Armed Forces of Ghana.
Electoral Commission
(2) The President shall take precedence over all other persons in Ghana; and in descending order, the Vice-President, the Speaker of Parliament and the Chief Justice, shall take precedence over all other persons in Ghana.
(3) Before assuming office the President shall take and subscribe before Parliament the oath of allegiance and the presidential oath set out in the Second Schedule to this Constitution.
(4) Without prejudice to the provisions of article 2 of this Constitution, and subject to the operation of the prerogative writs, the President shall not, while in office, be liable to proceedings in any court for the performance of his functions, or for any act done or omitted to be done, or purported to be done, or purported to have been done or purporting to be done in the performance of his functions, under this Constitution or any other law.
(5) The President shall not, while in office as President, be personally liable to any civil or criminal proceedings in court.
(6) Civil or criminal proceedings may be instituted against a person within three years after his ceasing to be President, in respect of anything done or omitted to be done by him in his personal capacity before or during his term of office notwithstanding any period of limitation except where the proceedings had been legally barred before he assumed the office of President.

(1) A person shall not be a candidate in a presidential election unless he is nominated for election as President by a document which -
(a) is signed by him; and
(b) is signed by not less than two persons who are registered voters resident in the area of authority of each district assembly;
(c) is delivered to the Electoral Commission on or before the day appointed as nomination day in relation to the election;
(d) designates a person to serve as Vice-President.
(2) The election of the President shall be on the terms of universal adult suffrage and shall, subject to the provisions of this Constitution, be conducted in accordance with such regulations as may be presecribed by constitutional instrument by the Electoral Commission and shall be held so as to begin -
(a) where a President is in office, not earlier than four months nor later than one month before his term of office expires; and
(b) in any other case, within three months after the office of President becomes vacant; and shall be held at such place and shall begin on such date as the Electoral Commission shall, by constitutional instrument, specify.
(3) A person shall not be elected as President of Ghana unless at the presidential election the number of votes cast in his favour is more than fifty per cent of the total number of valid votes cast at the election.
(3) Where at the close of nominations under clause (2) of this article only one candidate stands nominated, there shall be no election and that candidate shall be declared elected.
(4) Where at a presidential election there are more than two candidates and no candidate obtains the number or percentage of votes specified in clause (3) of this article a second election shall be held within twenty-one days after the previous election.
(5) The candidates for a presidential election held under clause (4) of this article shall be the two candidates who obtained the two highest numbers of votes at the previous election.
(6) Where at a presidential election three or more candidates obtain the two highest numbers of votes referred to in clause (5) of this article, then unless there

Right to Vote
Every citizen of Ghana of eighteen years of age or above and of sound mind has the right to vote and is entitled to be registered as a voter for the purposes of public elections and referenda.
Electoral Commission
43
(1) There shall be an Electoral Commission which shall consist of -
(a) a Chairman;
(b) two Deputy Chairmen; and
(c) four other members.
(2) The members of the Commission shall be appointed by the President under article 70 of this Constitution.

(1) A person is not qualified to be appointed a member of the Electoral Commission unless he is qualified to be elected as a member of Parliament.
(2) The Chairman of the Electoral Commission shall have the same terms and conditions of service as a Justice of the Court of Appeal.
(3) The two Deputy Chairman of the Commission shall have the same terms and conditions of service as are applicable to a Justice of the High Court.
(4) The Chairman and the two Deputy Chairmen of the commission shall not, while they hold office on the Commission, hold any other public office.
(5) The other four members of the Commission shall be paid such allowances as Parliament may determine.
(6) If a member is absent or dies, the Commission shall continue its work until the President, acting on the advice of the Council of State, appoints a qualified person to fill the vacancy.

The Electoral Commission shall have the following functions -
(a) to compile the register of voters and revise it at such periods as may be determined by law;
(b) to demarcate the electoral boundaries for both national and local government elections;
(c) to conduct and supervise all public elections and referenda;
(a) the guarantee of a fair and realistic remuneration for production and productivity in order to encourage continued production and higher productivity;
(d) to educate the people on the electoral process and its purpose;
(e) to undertake programmes for the expansion of the registration of voters; and
(f) to perform such other functions as may be prescribed by law.

Except as provided in this Constitution or in any other law not inconsistent with this Constitution, in the performance of its functions, the Electoral Commission, shall not be subject to the direction or control of any person or authority.
47(1) Ghana shall be divided into as many constituencies for the purpose of election of members of parliament as the Electoral Commission may prescribe, and each constituency shall be represented by one member of Parliament.
(2) No constituency shall fall within more than one region.
(3) The boundaries of each constituency shall be such that the number of inhabitants in the constituency is, as nearly as possible, equal to the population quota.
(4) For the purposes of clause (3) of this article, the number of inhabitants of a constituency may be greater or less than the population quota in order to take account of means of communication, geographical features, density of population and area and boundaries of the regions and other administrative or traditional areas.
(5) The Electoral Commission shall review the division of Ghana into constituencies at intervals of not less than seven years, or within twelve months after the publication of the enumeration figures after the holding of a census of the population of Ghana, whichever is earlier, and may, as a result, alter the constituencies.
(6) Where the boundaries of a constituency established under this article are altered as a result of a review, the alteration shall come into effect upon the next dissolution of Parliament.
(7) For the purposes of this article, "population quota" means the number obtained by dividing the number of inhabitants of Ghana by the number of constituencies into which Ghana is divided under this article.

(1) A person aggrieved by a decision of the Electoral Commission in respect of a demarcation of a boundary, may appeal to a tribunal consisting of three persons appointed by the Chief Justice and the Electoral Commission shall give effect to the decision of the tribunal.

(1) At any public election or referendum, voting shall be by secret ballot.
(2) Immediately after the close of the poll, the presiding officer shall, in the presence of such of the candidates or their representatives and their polling agents as are present, proceed to count, at that polling station, the ballot papers of that station and record the votes cast in favour of each candidate or question.
((3) The presiding officer, the candidates or their representatives and, in the case of a referendum, the parties contesting or their agents and the polling agents if any, shall then sign a declaration stating -
(a) the polling station; and
((b) the number of votes cast in favour of each candidate or question: and the presiding officer shall, there and then, announce the result of the voting at the polling station before communicating them to the returning officer.
(4) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, an issue for determination by referendum shall not be taken to be determined unless at least thirty-five percent of the persons entitled to vote at the referendum voted and, of the votes cast, at least seventy percent voted in favour of the issue.

(1) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, where at the close of nominations and on the day before a public election -
(a) two or more candidates have been nominated, the election shall be held and the candidate who receives the largest number of votes cast shall be declared elected; or
(b) only one candidate is nominated, there shall be no election and that candidate shall be declared elected.
(2) Where for the purposes of a public election two or more candidates are nominated but at the close of the nominations and on the day before the election, only one candidate stands nominated, a further period of ten days shall be allowed for nomination of other candidates, and it shall not be lawful for any person nominated within that period of ten days to withdraw his nomination.
(3) Where at the close of nominations under clause (2) of this article only one candidate stands nominated, there shall be no election and that candidate shall be declared elected.
(4) Where at the close of nominations, but before the election, one of the candidates dies, a further period of ten days shall be allowed for nominations; and where the death occurs at any time within twenty-five days before the election, the election in that constituency or unit shall be postponed for twenty one days.
51The Electoral Commission shall, by constitutional instrument, make regulations for the effective performance of its functions under this Constitution or any other law, and in particular, for the registration of voters, the conduct of public elections and referenda, including provision for voting by proxy.52
There shall be in every region and district a representative of the Electoral Commission who shall perform such functions as shall be assigned to him by the Commission.

The appointment of officers and other employees of the Electoral Commission shall be made by the Commission acting in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

The administrative expenses of the Electoral Commission including salaries, allowances and pensions payable to, or in respect of persons serving with the Commission, shall be charged on the Consolidated Fund.

Political Parties
(1) The right to form political parties is hereby guaranteed.
(2) Every citizen of Ghana of voting age has the right to join a political party.
(3) Subject to the provisions of this article, a political party is free to participate in shaping the political will of the people, to disseminate information on political ideas, social and economic programmes of a national character, and sponsor candidates for election to any public office either than to district assemblies or lower local government unit.
(4) Every political party shall have a national character, and membership shall not be based on ethnic, religious, regional or other sectional divisions.
(5) The internal organisation of a political party shall conform to democratic principles and its actions and purposes shall not contravene or be inconsistent with this constitution or any other law.
(6) An organisation shall not operate as a political party unless it is registered as such under the law for the time being in force for the purpose.
(7) For purposes of registration, a prospective political party shall furnish the electoral commission with a copy of its constitution and the names and addresses of its national officers: and shall satisfy the commission that -
(a) there is ordinarily residence, or registered as a voter in each district of Ghana, at least one founding member of the party:
(b) the party has branches in all the regions of Ghana and is, in addition, organised in not less than two thirds of the districts of each region; and
(c) the parties name, emblem, colour, motto or any other symbol has no ethnic, regional, religious or other sectional connotations or gives the appearance that it activities are confined only to a part of Ghana.
(8) A political party shall not have as a founding member, a leader or a member of its executives, a person who is not qualified to be elected as a Member of Parliament or to hold any other public office.
(9) The members of the national executive committee of a political party shall not be chosen from all the regions of Ghana.
(10) Subject to the provisions of this constitution, every citizen of voting age has the right to participate in political activity intended to influence the composition and policies of the Government.
(11) The state shall provide fair opportunity to all political parties to present their programmes to the public by ensuring equal access to the state-owned media.
(12) All presidential candidates shall be given the same amount of time and space on the state-owned media to present their programmes to the people.
(13) Every candidate for election to Parliament has the right to conduct his campaign freely and in accordance with law.
(14) Political parties shall be required by law-
(a) to declare to the public their revenues and assets and the sources of those revenues and assets; and
(b) to publish to the public annually their audited accounts.
(15) Only a citizen of Ghana may make a contribution or donation to a political party registered in Ghana.
(16) A member of an organisation or interest group shall not be required to join a particular political party by virtue of his membership of the organisation or group.
(17) Subject to the provisions of this Chapter, Parliament shall by law regulate the establishment and functioning of political parties.

Parliament shall have no power to enact a law to establish or authorise the establishment of a body or movement with the right or power to impose on the people of Ghana a common programme or a set of objectives of a religious or political.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria on Sunday described Ghana’s general election as peaceful, transparent, free and fair, and should, therefore, be emulated by other African countries.
He said, “By this successful and peaceful election, Ghana has again added another beautiful block to the already political edifice it has built over the years.”
The former President, who led an African Union and Economic Community for West African States delegation to observe the polls, called on President John Dramani Mahama at his official residence in Accra.
He commended both the party in government and the opposition parties for their peaceful and successful participation in the election.
Also at the meeting was Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, Alhaji Baba Kamara, Ghana’s High commissioner to Nigeria among others.
General Obasanjo said Ghana’s democracy had reached a level where there would not be any need to resort to any court cases regarding this year’s election.
He gave the assurance that the final results of the polls that would be presented by the Electoral Commission would be credible and acceptable to all in the contest.
President Mahama commended the Observer teams for participating in Ghana’s election as that would go a long way to give the exercise high level of credibility.
He said his government would continue to be law abiding as they await the declaration of the final results in the next few hours or days by the Electoral Commission.

The NDC's action may be untenable, but it is significant. What about the other political parties, do they not care about transformation and respect of our electoral laws and regulations? Sitting on the sidelines will not bring the reforms you envision. Holding press conferences, will not change the processes that went into stealing the mandate of the people. The public place is not the right place to make corrections to what is flawed. Our constitution prescribes the Judiciary, and particularly the Supreme Court to handle such abuses identified, and prescribe solutions to the legislature to enact into law. First they must have the incontrovertible evidence. So for the CPP, PNC, PPP and other interested political parties, you owe it to yourselves to come out with what you have found as irregularities, and declares witnesses in this case. It cannot just be the NPP fighting so proper reforms can come out. It must be all interested parties involved in election in Ghana. Therefore, all the Red and Blue or Pink sheets of all the other political party agents should be made available to the NPP to fight for the needed reforms to happen. Are you listening Dr Nduom, CPP and PNC?..

Let's first take a look at what the Constitution states: "Article 64(1) states the VALIDITY of the ELECTION of the PRESIDENT may be CHALLENGED only by a CITIZEN of Ghana by a PETITION presented to the SUPREME COURT within TWENTY-ONE days after the DECLARATION of the RESULTS".
Let me school you now: (1)The law gives the right to challenge the validity of an elected president to a CITIZEN and not a PERSON because a person may include a LEGAL PERSON like the registered NDC party. So if NDC goes to court they are going as a LEGAL PERSON and that disqualifies them since the law states it's a CITIZEN that can challenge the validity and not a PERSON/LEGAL PERSON.
2.It is upon the above premise that the 3 PLAINTIFFS filed the petition in their capacities as CITIZENS and not as a party NPP.
3.What is the locus standing then of NDC to join the suit or NDC has now metamorphosed from a PARTY into a "CITIZEN OF GHANA"?
4. (a)NDC claimed NPP had no case/evidence thus the delay in filing the suit (b)After the suit was filed NDC people made mockery of the evidence and also stated that the PRESIDENT was IMMUNE to lawsuits. So if the EVIDENCE per NDC is nothing but 'FRIVOLOUS' why are they worried to the extent that they want to "JOIN" the suit?
5. Has the NDC seen anywhere in this world where "common sense" operates that a party or group presents itself to court praying them to be added as a defendant? Or let me make it easier for you.....for eg. your girlfriend sues you in court for stealing her jewellery and your father comes to court to ask them to add him as a DEFENDANT because you're the son and he took care of you?
6. Didn't Asiedu-Nketiah say that all the NPP people supporting the lawsuit are IDIOTS? Going by his logic what makes the NDC?
Do you now see your folly. NPP used its due diligence to digest the law and do the RIGHT THING but the STUPID FOOLS in NDC just woke up and decided to do something that even GOATS will not contemplate. No wonder I've always maintained that NDC is full of classless, incompetent and mediocre lawyers who have no COMMON SENSE. Also I love what my friend always says...."better be ruled by EDUCATED FOOLS (NPP) than ILLITERATE SWINES" for the FOOL when he comes to his senses can at least fall on his education but the SWINE.......you tell me if he can fall on his ILLITERACY. Ghana will forever be doomed if it's populated by YOU and other so called NDC followers. Tweaaaaaaa!!!!

CBP officers’ suspicions were aroused by the weight of a woman’s bag at Dulles International Airport about 3 p.m. Dec. 24, the agency said in a statement.
Citing court papers, an agency spokesman said the suitcase “remained unusually heavy” after being emptied of its contents. An inspection of the lining turned up 11 pounds of what might be heroin, the agency said.
CBP said Nana Tweneboah, 68, who was arriving from Ghana via Amsterdam, is facing federal charges of narcotics smuggling. A CBP official warned that agency officers “don’t take a holiday.”
In another Dulles incident, CBP said, it seized nearly 214 pounds of khat Dec. 21 that arrived in air freight being shipped from Kenya to the District. Kkhat is grown in East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, and CBP described it as an illegal substance that is chewed as a stimulant.
CBP said the khat was destroyed. But the agency said that the plant loses potency relatively soon after harvest and that prosecution was declined.

Prior to the December 2012 elections some officials of the NPP especially Eric Awuku, Abu Jinapor and their General Secretary were regularly cautioning and making it known to Ghanaians that the NPP will match the NDC boot for boot during the elections. It was clear they were ready to ensure NDC did nothing untoward.
Today the NPP are alleging that the President and the EC colluded to facilitate the win for the president, John Mahama. So was the NPP just making empty noise all the while? Can this group of people be taken seriously by Ghanaians at all? This is a solid indication to Ghanaians that these people are good noise makers and can never be taken seriously.
In 2008, it was noise as usual thinking the quiet majority of Ghanaians was with them. Some of us knew that the NPP will lose the elections because it was the minority noise makers who really are followers of their party. It was easy to identify an NPP follower by the noise he or she makes. But I am happy that majority of Ghanaians now understand that voting is secret and that there was no use in making noise all over the place.
The Petition filed by the NPP is meant to frustrate majority of Ghanaians who preferred President John Mahama to the other candidates. This is what Akufo Addo and the NPP cannot understand because they think they are wiser than the rest of the population. Ghana need to punish this bunch of arrogant persons again in the next election and I know it will happen. I will single handedly lead this task by the Grace of God.
The NDC is justified to join the suit because they are an interested party as long as they nominated Mr John Mahama to stand as their candidate. It was the party which sponsored the president. The president is their representative in the presidential elections. It is a truism that the NDC party cannot stand for presidential election unless they nominate someone to do that on their behalf.
The majority of Ghanaians who voted to elect John Mahama should have interest in this suit also. I am therefore inviting all these Ghanaians to organize to join in the suit as well. The 1992 Constitution provides the sovereign people of Ghana to make a choice of a president and nobody should be allowed to undermine this right otherwise the current system of governance is of no use to the people.
President John Mahama is the choice of God through the people of Ghana. Prior to becoming the president peculiar things happened which cannot be ignored. The Almighty God has prior knowledge of anything which happens in this world. The Bible says God knew who we are before we were born. If the will of God is subverted, the people will suffer for it as the Bible has captured this in the case of Israelites (God’s chosen people)
The NPP have to go to court because there is no other way to frustrate the NDC after that useless hooliganism and out pouring on the street immediately after the result was announced. There is nothing left for them to do when their hooliganism yielded no reasonable result other than causing death and harm to innocent Ghanaians. This party is not democratic; they are subversive in all respect and it is their desire to restage how their forbearers hounded the first president of Ghana, Osagyefo Nkrumah until he died in a foreign land. How can this party announce that they must be declared winners of the election when they are not in the minds of Ghanaians? The NPP want to subvert the will of the people of Ghana.
Anyone who has read the Aquarian Gospel will understand why our Lord Jesus Christ was outstanding and unmatchable in the world. His experiences and exposures have made him what he was. Jesus was a better judge even though he was not a professional lawyer. We are also told by the Bible that King Solomon was a better judge even though he was not a trained lawyer. Divine wisdom is the best and anyone with divine wisdom is blessed. Any judge worth his/her salt will never do anything to incur the wrath of God.
