Since, when do we have elections based on regions? The Asante region (in particular Kumase) has the largest population density. Winning all votes from Asante region, plus another region is more than enough for any presidential candidate to obtain absolute majority. Why do you think, this misguided Nkrumah tried to restrict voting power of Asantes by hiving off a significant portion of our territory i.e. present day Bono Ahafo (formerly Western Asante region)? Yet, he had to realize, that he and no government in the world had the power to do so, therefore he shamefully went in for the political option.

Who told you, that Asanteman is equal to Asante region? Asanteman is much larger than that. It consists of states in the Eastern region like Koforidua (New Juaben), states in the Volta region like Worawora, most parts of Bono Ahafo region and many many other places.
