Despite NPP's petition before the SC challenging the declaration of President Mahama as the winner of the 2012 Presidential Elections, the Constitution permits him to be inaugurated as President on January 7 2013 and to act as President until the SC decides otherwise. All actions and omissions of the President after his investiture from January 7 2013 will be legal and constitutional until the Supreme Courts decides otherwise. That is why the words "without prejudice" are inserted in the constitution regarding this matter.

What law (Constitution, Acts, Constitutional or Executive Instruments) will NPP rely on to claim that the actions of the Executive would be illegal on or after January 7? Where are the legal luminaries within the NPP? If NPP MPs will boycott parliamentary business because the actions and omissions of the Executive would be illegal, then why bother to attend their swearing in? Why can't they wait till the Supreme Court has declared Nana Akufo Addo President and he has been sworn in? Is NPP really a party that believes in true democracy or only when it suits them? Selective democracy.

As soon the speaker is sworn in he/she should declare vacant constituencies held by npp mps. Bye-elections should then be held to replace them since they not prepared to work and Ghanaians cannot be paying people for no work done. They are as well as dead.

Do they really understand that they are there to represent primarily their constituents and not their party which is secondary?
Understandably, their party is equally important but it was only the road on which they rode to Parliament not the vehicle that conveyed them there. The vehicle is their constituent's votes.
If they are unaware, their constituents can amass numbers to file for vote of no confidence in them and erase them from Parliament to put serious business oriented, non-partisan addicted representatives. It is not a difficult thing to do at all in a democracy.
The wise ones among them should wake up and stop harassing democracy and the rule of law in that manner.
If a party has a case with EC and the person of Mahama; a case which is now in court, how does this dovetail in their potential sabotage efforts?
Why are they burnt on kidnapping the developmental prospects of Ghana; a country they claim to love? Why kidnap the hope of Ghanaians; a country you want to serve? Why kidnap the sanctity of the democratic institutions of a country that made you?

They will remain in opposition for years to come as Ghanaian electorate will not take them seriously until a new enlighten crop of leadership emerged within the party.

The leadership of the part always think that they only have the divine rights to rule Ghana unfortunately, Ghanaians are becoming more politically educated to read the stupid behaviours.
I have never met President Mahama but in all purposes and intent, he’s a decent and caring man. He has the qualities to be the President, and I am pretty sure, he’ll be an excellent leader. The NPP behaviour is a tribal politics, which has no place in Ghanaian civic society.

Then what is their use and frankly why should tax payers' money be used to pay them?

They might as well forfeit their allowances for dereliction of their duties and negligence. I thought that NPP fully understood that until the matter is resolved, the President remains the resident of Ghana and therefore continues to function. After all that is a constitutional provision unless they want him to resign the position whilst the SC considers their case in which case the country will be without a president! Or do they expect his deputy or the chief justice to take over the reigns? This is becoming ridiculous in my opinion and rather shameful and putting our nation in a bad light.

It's a shame because they are making themselves irrelevant; and all young democracies need multiple viable, cognitive political parties on which to grow their roots. If they act this way, then they will be in the wilderness for at least 10 years, maybe more if an alternative party take their place as heavyweights. By acting like bulls in a china shop before a supreme court judgement has even been made, they are only ruining themselves by looking like crying babies.

Does the NPP minority realize that they are in parliament to represent the people who voted for them and not the interest of the NPP party? Heck, they may as well all resign and give way to others who may be willing and ready to represent their constituents. They do not have to attend the presidential inauguration or even vote for any bills, but at least they can represent their people by arguing the merits and/or demerits of the bills. I am sure they will also refuse their big salaries or take pay cuts for not doing 100% of their job.

The negativity of the NPP only damages the standing of the party.

Ghanaians are getting fed up with their antics.

They have gone to court to try to overturn the outcome of the presidential elections. If they respect the constitution and the law of the land, they should understand that the decision of the Electoral Commission on the election results stands until the Supreme Court determines otherwise.

This disruptive behaviour is highly disreapectful of the populace and amounts to contempt. If they pursue this boycott and the Supreme Court rules against them, will they not look foolish?

This sorry saga brings into question the wisdom of the entire leadership of the NPP. Once again they have failed to to exercise prudence, just as they failed to act on the infamous 'all die be die' rant by Nana Akuffo Addo, and the incitement of Akans to attack Gas and Ewes.

NPP will pay a heavy price in the 2016 elections.

Parliamenterians are supposed to be lawmakers. So what kind of laws are they going to make for Ghanaians.

The EC ruling stands until the court rule otherwise. Just because the NPP claims the election was flawed--doesn't mean anything.

So Afari Gyan, Mahama and everyone according to the rule of law are innocent until proven otherwise.

So legally speaking Mahama is the President for now. And the office of the presidency has to be respected--whoever is the occupant.

All they needed to do that time was to boycott education and chase rats in the bush for survival. Ghana would have been better off without them (inland people) when they were saying "te te matemeho". It is time the NPP acknowledges that the finance of Ghana is changed from Cocoa, Gold, Diamond and other products from the bush to the Oil production in the coastal area which is never near them. Your pride kingdom is doomed and you can move out of Ghana completely. What sense does it make for constituencies to elect representatives to the Assembly to make laws to profit all Ghanaians and few greedy fools are determined to vote against all bills presented for discussions. If the NPP have better balls as men, they should boycott the swearing-in of the entire Assembly for this session and stay away from assembly. I know you bush people are allergic to the sea breeze and hate Accra. Boycott Ghana and we can do better without you! Sick and tied of your divisiveness from generation.

The first order of duty for the President is to appoint Ex-president JJ Rawlings as Ghana's Disciplinary Secretary to take care of the foolishness in the Assembly and elsewhere in the country of any person(s) or group(s) that disrupt democratic procedure(s). If NPP does not understand democracy, a polished kind of dictatorial leadership may be designed to cool them. The same people tried it on Nkrumah hence the birth of Nsawam Prison. They never learn from their past and they enjoy direct confrontation. Their leader Akufo-Addo will be lost in the mist of tall people during the January 7th. inauguration anyway so it makes no difference for their boycott to save shameful height problem.

NDC apparatchikcs can say whatever they want---we've made it clear from the beginning that we cannot let over 5 million Ghanaians who stood queued for long hours; those who lost their sleep----to vote for Nana & Bawumia and the NPP.

Elections are meant to be free and fair, to decide our nation's president and parliamentarians. The NDC have been rigging elections for the longest time---since 1992. They've grown accustomed to stealing the ballot and thinks it's natural to steal in any elections, just so, they could cover their gargantuan crimes.

It's about time we stood up against election fraud that's been so prevalent in our system. It's wrong and unacceptable! However, the NDC, their scouts and cohorts think it's okay to steal in any elections.

The NDC's been going around telling Ghanaians that there's no case because sections of the 1992 constitution rules that every citizen above 18+plus yrs and of sound mind has the right as a citizen to vote. They strangely seem to ignore the fact that this biometric voting stipulatess that one cannot vote without verification among others.
The NDC also think it's an acceptable norm to bloat the voter's register or falsify and manipulate the ballot.

Right now, our Supreme Court Justices have a herculean task of scrutinizing the NPP's evidence to arrive at an acceptable and honest verdict.

Certainly, this is a big test case for our noble judges. But we'll accept whatever decision they'll arrive at in this faudulent case. The NDC shouldn't take our justice system for granted. This time around Ghanaians are wide awake and won't allow any wicked people to kill our "cats" without a resistance. No-way!

We should wish them all the best and courage as they begin deliberations on the case.
