Prior to the elections in 2008 Mills warned that the NDC would not entertain any attempt by the NPP to steal the verdict of the people in the December elections.He accused the then ruling NPP government of having stolen the 2004 elections and stated, that the NDC would not allow the
NPP to repeat such a conduct as they did in 2004. He warned the nation to expect mayhem if the party suspects the results of the December polls were rigged in favour of the NPP. He threated to turn Ghana into Kenya if elections were not going in favour of NDC.

Fellow Ghanaians, let us analyze the performance of the two main political parties in this country. NDC’s philosophy is “dzie wo fie asem”. In opposition they allowed the Kufuor regime to mind its own business. As a result the NPP looted the Ghana government for eight good years. The fat cats looted the economy from cash (Kwadwo Mpiani), bungalow (Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey), cooking pots (Sekyi-Hughes) etc…..70% of the richest people in Ghana are NPP apparachicks. In the case of NPP, they believe they know better than anybody else and they are the only people who have the divine right to rule Ghana thus they oppose everything NDC does if it is not from the NPP, whether good or bad, from, Chinese loans, judgment debts, appointments and even the inauguration of President Mahama. This enabled the NDC to always be on their toes in whatever they do. From this observation, you can all agree with me that the NPP are better in opposition than NDC. Fellow Ghanaians, let us ensure that NPP remains in opposition for thirty years. After that time NDC will improve everything and NPP will come back and rule Ghana till thy kingdom come.

and corrupt African leaders. Ghana can not afford senseless waste of funds while millions are homeless, clive in abject poverty conditions and
stinks with thrsh and filth. Come March 6th, GoG will be spending $Millions again for independence anniversary party. Are we that foolish
to squander our oil wealth holdin parties for foreign and African dignatories while our citizens suffer?

They need to amend the constitution to push that to two months. So let me ask you this, should incase the court decides for the NPP, do you kick the NDC government out of office? The courts should stop the inauguration until they decide on how to prceed with this matter. The court should have been working throughout the holiday to resolve this matter. Its a matter that deserves national attention. But our minds are filled with shallow thinking as you can see on this forum. There will be a time when people will take matters into their own hands, mark my words. You think this is the way to move forward? Personally, I do not live in Ghana, don't intend on ever living there, just my opinion!

I hate the waste of our scarce money for this illegal function.
You will all thank the NPP in the very near future for being firm and upholding our democracy. "Fa ma Nyame" is a thing of the past.
Insults will never diminish Nana Addo's stature in politics of Ghana. He is a gaint in politics.
We do not hate our fellow Ghanaians, but we hate the dishonest character in them. If only they can sit quietly and ponder, they will be prompted to the truth always.
We must remember that no matter how deep we bury truth, it will germinate or pop up. The man Mr Mahama will not sit pretty because he knows the facts and the truth of the matter in hand.

As per the constitution, if petitioners can win their case in court, the inauguration notwithstanding, Nana Akuffi-Addo will become the President.

Here, my concern is if Nana can become President in this way, which will not be inconsistent with the constitution, will it not bring humiliation to the 'celebrated' Mahama? And will the whole world not be laughing at us for a BIG constitutional flaw like this?

I'm also looking at how the Chief Justice may feel: the same person to swear in the President-elect, and also to constitute a panel of justices to make a decision as to whether the person who would have been sworn in should continue or declared illegitimate?

The whole case is bizarre. I tend to think that Dr Afari-Djan could have helped the situation better: 1) The constitution allows the election to be conducted from within 4 months and one month to when the president-elect would assume office. This means the election could have been held anywhere between 7 September and 7 December. If held in September and there was a petition, there would have been ample time for the supreme court to determine the case before the inauguration. 2) We are also told that the NPP brought to the attention of Afari-Djan their concerns, but he dismissed them when he had 24 more hours within time to declare the results. If this is true, then one would ask why was he rushing, only for Ghana to be put into this situation?

The good thing about the petition is that the whole world knows that gHanaians using legal means, not guns, to make their case. And whatever the outcome of the court case, democracy in Ghana would have deepened. Let's see if Ghana continues to be the pace-setter in Africa politics. God bless Ghana!

If the NPP agents saw it fit to sign off the results then what is the complaint of NPP?

It is difficult to see how a party which has won in only two out of ten regions can expect to overturn the EC decision on the results of the general election.

This court case though legal flies in the face of reason, The NPP is doing itself incalculable electoral damage by creating such disruption.
